I've decided this new song is amazing and I think I like it more than everything on Nature besides Virginia. And I'm not slighting those Mother Nature songs at all. I just love this.

I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

Mother Nature is an absolute monster, listened today for the first time today in a while and it gave me chills how it was able to bring me back to such specific moments so succinctly

I will be okay. everything Supporter

The EP was a lot more mid tempo and piano based so it makes sense to me people might feel differently about that one than Mother Nature

Well this is right in line with what they’ve been doing and it rules. I love this band

New song is really good and feels big. Hopefully the song Coming Home is a good representation of the album Coning Home because the song feels really well put together.

Someone on the previous page posted the Podcast "Gone Fishkin" with AJ from a couple days ago and wanted to repost it here. Big Green Eyes is so fucking good. (At 1 hr 2 min in) On second listen it's maybe my favorite from them in years.. also some interesting points from AJ:

    - The Last Tour they just did was supposed to be the tour after the album release, but the album recording start date got pushed back a couple months

    - AJ really wants to leak the album. He talks about it a lot on here. So I think we will be getting a leak really soon, similar to the Mother Nature leak

    - The Booking Agents wants the album released in fall, but AJ said he's sticking to summer

    - There is a big band that he didn't name, that may be taking them out on tour. But either way they will be touring all Fall/Winter he said in U.S and U.K

Def give this a listen. Big green Eyes is right after Coming Home round the hour mark. But i recommend listening to the whole AJ portion. He's drunk and doing dabs lol and just speaking freely. Here's the Spotify Link, but can just search " Gone Fishkin" on any podcast app

Instead of leaking, if it’s self released, can they just push up the release date? Also, if an artist who owns the music chooses to leak their own content early in fine with that.

He explains why he wants to leak it. It's interesting, he wants to leak the 5 songs that aren't the obvious singles first, as they get lost when the album is dropped. He explains it better than me

I don’t have any desire to hear AJ drunk and high talking for an extended amount of time. It’s his life and he can do what he wants to do. But I’ll just listen to the music and leave his personal stuff to the side since he’s not hurting anyone.

Thats really interesting. It allows some of the other songs attention that could otherwise be more lost in the album I guess. When Blink released Nine, they released a bunch of songs before the album dropped, and it did feel like a way to get familiar with songs (including singles) to be ready to take in more of the album.

It doesn’t always work, but AJ probably put some thought into it and I think it’d be interesting. Considering that the first single Coming Home is really good, I can only assume the songs saved for the other singles will be too.

Appreciate the update/summary from the podcast.

I wouldn’t want to get like half the album early. I haven’t even listened to what’s out there yet. I’m gonna listen to the whole album when it comes out. I can wait. I’ll get to those less single type songs, don’t worry AJ.

I really hope it's Angels & Airwaves, I feel like they fit each other's vibes perfectly. Plus AVA needs to reschedule their UK tour after it got cancelled in January.

Big Green Eyes is beautiful. Has me hyped for this album. I’m impressed AJ has pushed forward and has continued to put out great music. It felt like around Golden Record this band/AJ would be done for good. I consider myself very lucky to still have TDS music to look forward to.

the self titled is so underrated, even by myself, but as a follow up to golden record and AJ and matt kind of recuperating and realizing what form the band was going to take after the tumultuous period before and after GR, its an incredibly solid collection of tracks with AJ really pouring his heart out and working through some tough shit. i think the tuning of the album was a bold choice and not something you see too many bands experimenting with at all in this scene or really any scene outside of classical/ambient music. but as far as the actual songs go, there are several absolute stunners on that thing. color, fire, and luna in particular really do it for me but valium, live forever, and of course infinite among several others (this is just the top of my head rn) are extremely hard hitting. and yet when i think of this band in my head its the album that i kind of overlook unless im actually listening to it. one day it'll get its due and like i said when i put that thing on im reminded how powerful of a record it really is.

big green eyes is tight. easy to see what they were going for on that one and they nailed it. hope it becomes a live staple and people sing along and all that. could see it as the song they come back out and play for the encore before ripping into whatever huge encore song they wanna do.

One of my favorite things when Sam was on here was when you asked him if they really did tune down and he said he talked them out of tuning down for Mother Nature too :crylaugh:

So I know it's wiki and can be total BS, but while reading their Band Page today for the first time in a while I read this, and never saw or heard this before as a reason Ben left the band

Yeah its probably just someone guessing what happened, when him leaving was just Ben wanting to do another Project and then they hit up Aaron after
