Honestly if you told me when ap.net first made the transition over that Fleetwood Mac and Kate freakin' Bush would do well on a user list here, my jaw would have hit the floor.

I'd say wait to see how the totals shake out. You don't want like a 30-way tie at #120.

Kate Bush is probably one of the most influential musicians ever. Definitely check out Hounds of Love if you haven't, it's fantastic,

Discovering the deep cuts of Fleetwood Mac (and not what everyone else has played for me) was what made me fall in love. It’s their lesser-known stuff that’s fire. Gonna dig deeper into Kate Bush and some other high ranking albums from here today.

I was somewhat surprised they made it on the list - I love that album and I wish they were still making music.

I knew Fleetwood was one of those bands where I couldn't tell you a single song but I know I've heard them. "Go Your Own Way" was the first example of that.

New to me and on multiple people’s lists, I listened to Dirt by Alice in Chains. While I like Nirvana a decent amount, a lot of that kind of grunge alt rock American stuff from the early-mid 90s has passed me by. I don’t think I’ve ever heard full albums from Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Mudhoney and bands like them.

This was a bit more Metal-y than I was expecting though, with some big riffs and solos , sounding closer to something like Guns N Roses than I was expecting. Layne Staley clearly has a powerful voice and he’s a good singer, but not really the sort of thing I’m into, and I found the album blending into one after a while to be honest.

I didn’t dislike it , and it didn’t feel that onerous to finish the album, but it didn’t really feel like one that I’d be particularly interested in returning to later. Which was kind of what I expected to be very honest, but always worth seeing if something will surprise you!

I did also read up on Staley’s life and his last few reclusive years, which was a very sad end, as he was clearly a talented singer.

Glad you gave it a shot! Definitely a challenging listen, especially at first. I fell in love with the sheer intensity of the rhythms and production initially; eventually became one of my all-timers because for me it unlocks something elemental about the thrill of music and specifically percussion that I've rarely found elsewhere. Can think of few styles of music that are as far from the Pruitt record (not derogatory, that album's great!), so I can definitely understand the whiplash, haha.

Does the cranberry juice guy have an influence on the fleetwood Mac love going on here? Juice for thought.

I must just frequent different threads than most 'cause I feel like I see the Mac referenced pretty often
