Talkin' Honky Blues came out as I was getting into a lot of indie rap. Him, Sage Francis, Atmosphere and Eyedea and Abilities did a lot to get me back into hip hop when I was about as out of love with it as I ever got. Don't listen to much of any of them any more, but when I do, it always brings a smile to my face.

I love Greg, but it took a while to adjust to him. Miss Machine is good, but I was very much missing Dmitri (despite never actually seeing him with them), so I never listened it that much. By Ire Works and the Plagiarism EP (i'm a sucker for their cover of Like I Love You), I was all on board with Gregs vocals. I was all on board with him as a person already though after witnessing him shit into a bag on stage at Reading festival, saying that it represented the rest of the bands on the bill and promptly threw it into the crowd. I was thankfully nowhere near it haha

    Some notes:

Deafheaven is probably my band of the decade. Sunbather was a game changer for me.

Dead In The Dirt is an insane band and if you check out one band on this list, listen to that one. Can probably name like 3-4 bands who have dropped an album as ruthless as that one since 2013.

Helicopter by Deerhunter is arguably my favorite song of all time.
