I've got Julius, Doppelgänger, and Bright in the fridge. I was supposed to have a growler of Haze too, but but my dad forgot it when he came down. I have to say Doppleganger is the best of the bunch in my opinion, but they're are definitely so, so good.

What are all your favorite beer-infused food recipes? I steamed mussels with a farmhouse ale today and they were absolutely excellent.

Be sure to drink your Ovaltine.

I had a Toffee Nut Brown ale beer jelly spread over homemade English muffins this morning.

I made a pretty good beer peppercorn sauce for Steaks.

I'm also currently drinking Doppleganger - Treehouse. It's incredible.

I've never had anything from treehouse and it bums me out.

I didn't think I ever would, I live in Scotland.
I just got lucky and happened to be in right place at the right time. Met a beer friend in NY who sent me a ridiculous package down to San Diego.

I can't complain too much, having easy access to most Michigan beer is great.

I have a cousin who drives a truck for a living, and my dad and I got him into craft beer. It has worked pretty well for me.

My girlfriend posted in a thread on reddit that some of hers/our unicorn beers are NEIPA's and some dude messaged her for a trade and gave us a can of each. The package was sent straight from the brewery, so I don't know if he worked there or what, but it's incredible. He wanted a 4-for-4 trade of just local stuff so we sent him some Plead the Fifth because he doesn't get Dark Horse out there, a Jolly Pumpkin, and a couple other stuff. Felt like we ripped him off. As stated above, though, the beer community can be some of the nicest people willing to just send beer for no particular reason. It's great.

I do beer braised pork ribs with onions, mushrooms, and potatoes. Always a favorite for myself. Made it for lunch yesterday, will be finishing the rest of it for dinner tonight.

Don't know if I'm gonna get to Treehouse before the end of August =(

And Trillium released Blueberry Soak today and ran out in <1 hour =(

  12. As soon as I get off work today I'm going to a friend's house to pick up Focal Banger and Crusher cans from him. Will be my first experience with both. Needless to say, I'm doing nothing but starting at the clock for this last hour of work and I'm going to have to put these in the trunk of my car to keep from drinking one on the way home, haha.

Ugh, I've been waiting all summer for Blueberry Soak and it comes out on a day that it woulda been super inconvenient to get to Fort Point and only a few days after stocking up elsewhere. If it goes on tap at Canton this week I might have to swing over there.

Hey guys, I posted about my road trip that's happening next summer about 15-17 pages back. Anyone know of any beers/breweries in South Dakota. Just from a google search it looks like I'm going to find one in either Sioux Falls or Rapid City. If no one has a rec based on either going there or trying a beer from one of their breweries and liking it, I'll prob just pick one at random, but always love to get recs.

  15. There are a couple in each location worth checking out.

    Sioux City:
Woodgrain - great ratings/reviews, seems to focus on IPAs and a few stouts.
Granite City - decent ratings, and a pretty traditional lineup
Monks House of Ale - good ratings, and a pretty traditional lineup
Fernson - good ratings, looks like they focus on saisons/farmhouse styles

    Rapid City:
Firehouse - good ratings, and a pretty traditional lineup
Hay Camp - great ratings, they have a pretty highly rated Berliner Weisse and their IPAs are also rated well.

Currently drinking Trillium - Dialed In DIPA brewed with Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer juice. It's fantastic.

Planning on cracking a can of Half Acre's Navaja tonight. I've had a flight pour of if on tap before so I'm stoked to actually get a full can of it down.

Pipework's Lil' Citra is an awesome session IPA with a lot of citra hop taste for something that clocks in at 4.9%.

Haven't been in here in a while, but picked up some Navaja over the weekend and it was so good. I saw the Lil' Citra, but I skipped over it. I'll have to grab some next time.

Also, I don't know if you saw this, but Caviar is delivering food and beer (growlers, howlers, and cans) from Half Acre with no delivery charge through 15th: Caviar | Half Acre Brewery

After having Navaja last night, my only complaint is that it's a lot to take in one-go on a weekday, but that's probably more of a complaint about the style of beer (9.5% DIPA) than anything else.

Sadly, Caviar doesn't service my area of the city (Jefferson Park). That makes me a sad panda.

I helped brew an Amber ale today on the 7 BBL brew system at my new job today. Yesterday wasn't a brew day so I helped out cleaning fermenters and washing kegs. I feel like an actual brewing assistant, now.

Up in VT for the weekend. Drinking around Burlington tonight, Alchemist tomorrow and then Festival of Farmhouse Ales at Hill Farmstead on Saturday. And this insane event at Parker Pies (pizza place by HF) on Friday and Saturday....

I think there was someone in here who said they wanted to try some New England IPA's. I'm headed to Trillium around noon today so if you see this before then and you'd like me to grab a can or two for you I can and we'll work out a trade or something and I can send it out to you.

On the hunt for some pumpkin beers after work. Fall seasonal beers are typically my favorite season for beers.
