Temperature won't skunk beer, light will. So as long as you keep them out of sunlight it will be fine, and if you're only getting cans then that makes it easy. You probably don't really want them to get too hot but being at room temperature for a few days won't have any effect on them and you'll be able to put them in the fridge when you get home.

The above are correct. Think about beer sitting on shelves unrefrigerated at stores. Those beers were almost assuredly cold at one point and you wouldn't hesitate to buy them off a shelf.

finishing up the final details for this road trip with my partner tonight and it looks like I'll be going to Tree House on July 1st as well!

anybody have recommendations on lesser known breweries in Burlington, VT; Portland, ME; or Providence, RI? thanks!

  8. I'm also very careful not to temperature-shock my beers. I cool warm stuff down in stages, never directly on ice or in the freezer.

Speaking of light and how it affects beer, a few of my local breweries have been experimenting with bottling the same beer in brown glass and then again in green glass. I've picked up several of them so far, and while most still need to be conditioned a bit longer I've recently cracked two grisettes and the results have been noticeably different. Considerably more funk from the green bottle, while the earthy characteristics came out more from the brown bottle. I know a lot of people don't like green bottle beers because of the skunkyness that often comes with, however proper storage along with accepting that some beers are meant to have a light/mild skunk can leave you with some really unique and more creative/original flavor profiles that don't ruin the beer by any means. Its been a fun experiment so far and I hope they keep it up.

Never heard of The Dudes’ Brewing Co., but they sound like my type of brewery.

Citra/Mosaic Muis from Phantom Carriage is probably great.

Super jealous of SARA and Veritas 14.

Sad to say, The Dudes sucks haha. They have a cool hangout area but the beer is super sub par, and their new staff are assholes, used to go somewhat often, stopped a while ago though.

Sell me on SARA and Veritas, what are they

Haha, I guess that's not too shocking to hear. Anyone who gets that weird with their beer is usually either terrible or great at it. I'm lucky enough to have one of the great ones at it near me with Tired Hands.

Sante Adairius (SARA) is one of the most well regarded sour producers in the country. They have beers that get a lot more hype than Saison Bernice, but it's apparently a fantastic beer in it's own right. Their other beer just looks to be a normal pale ale, which I've heard they do a good job on as well.

Veritas is one of Lost Abbey's most sought after beers each year. Wild Ale with cherries. 014 was a "down" year, I think, but it still gets crazy good reviews.

I've been a few times and done the likes of Stone, Ballast Point, Lost Abbey and a bunch of others, but me and my Uncle always try and find somewhere new to drink when I visit.

What's the deal with Lawson's CT distribution? I'm driving from Boston to NJ on Monday and would love to try and pick something up; also might stop at Two Roads
