This is an important one for me. My boss's daughter has had cancer since she was like... 2, just absolutely heartbreaking stuff, and she is the absolute sweetest most amazing kid ever. She started kindergarten (remote) yesterday and has been cancer free for about 6 months

So ANYWAY, this brewery in Oregon brews this beer called F* Cancer and the label is covered in names of cancer fighters, survivors and more. You can get names on the label by donating to cancer research so I donated this year to get his daughter on the can.

Well... Turns out it was very hard to get these cans in California, they don't distribute here and I obviously can't travel to Oregon very easily right now. I got lucky and they added it to Tavour a month or so ago and I jumped on it. Added a few more beers to my crate and they arrived today.

Now I just need to find a time to bring my boss a few cans to surprise him.



Anyway, the beer tastes fine but the meaning is what's important.

It's early but it's Friday

 

Had the first ever IPA from Half Acre I didn't like. This Parrot of Paradise is trying to thread the needle between West Coast and Hazy IPA and it comes off as a diluted version of the former.

 

Just placed an order at The Alchemist for tomorrow, excited for my yearly trip up to Vermont

Didn’t recall you being from SoCal and immediate thought... hmmm... looks like typical houses like where I grew up (Yorba Linda/Temecula).

 

I bought this and Southern Tier’s Orange Creamsicle on the same day and I think Southern Tier’s Orange Creamsicle blows the blood orange creamsicle out of the water.

The blood orange tasted more like a sour ale to me.

The irony is I will be using a single cut beer this week on my Instagram because my wife bought I for me and I feel obligated lol

 

Today’s haul. Heady was canned Wednesday and Focal was canned Thursday.

And also this honey stout from Untitled Art. This brewery is quickly jumping up my list, haven't had anything bad from them yet, everything (seltzer included) is damn good

 

Heady Topper is so fucking good every time

 

Did you get it from the brewery or a local beer store?

 

I drove up to the brewery! It’s about a 3 hour drive but I was getting stir crazy and I really like that particular drive through the mountains.

 

Man I was not feeling Heady or Focal the last time I had them. I have like 6 in my fridge still
