Music, a steady riot in my soul. Prestigious

I was on my way to meet at my daughter's dance class yesterday and realized I was like 45 minutes early (I just go right from work, but apparently left way earlier than I realized. I realized this about 1/2 mile from Big Storm Brewry, so I went in there to kill a half hour or so. The beer was okay, but when I checked into it on Untappd my name showed up on the digital menu. That was weird.

Out of curiosity, how much do you pay for something like this?

$30 for 10 tasters, $50 for all you can drink!!! We went to one last year and did the VIP all you can drink, and as expected, got SUPER toasted. So we're sticking with the 10 tasters this time haha.

If my favorite place ever, their food is the best in the city and the festival is held on the roof with a view of the ocean

Man for that price difference I think I'd definitely go for the AYCD. But at the same time, 10 tasters is probably enough haha.

Yeah the price is excellent, and all you can drink was fun as all hell, but we're trying to actually be productive after it this time. Worst case scenario, I buy some extra tickets or full pours afterwards.

For comparison, there is a brewery anniversary on Saturday that is $30 for all you can drink, $40 for that plus a bottle of their anniversary beer. The LA Beer Week Kickoff Event this summer is $40 for GA, all you can drink, $60 for VIP (early entry) and check out this freaking list so far L.A. Beer Week Kickoff 2016 Breweries - UPDATED | L.A. Beer Week

There's a casino in CT that does one annually for all you can drink for like 25 bucks. Stevens getting ripped off!!!

The beer fest I'm going to next weekend is $35.

  10. I'll be at this beer festival on Saturday and normal tickets are $40 (unlimited tastings) but there's a $70 ticket that also includes one hour early entry along with a souvenir pint glass and backpack. Friends and I got a Groupon that gave us the $70 ticket for $35.

Super excited -- 300+ beers, live music, Miami sunshine.

I should honestly try to seek out more beer events here in STL, the city is practically fueled by beer.

I have been to one beer fest and it did not end well. Not grabbing some food or water while in attendance was a very poor decision.

I'm thinking about volunteering for one of our state's biggest festivals in a couple weeks though. Seems like it would be a good time, plus you get a free shirt and volunteer-only after party. Win. Win.

Drank a bottle of Buxton Brewery - Yellow Belly last night. By far the best Peanut butter stout I've ever had. Beats out Belching Beaver by a mile.

That bottle is tight. What's it supposed to be, a ghost?

  15. Yet those who live in the St. Louis area are very proud to be home to the St. Louis Bread Company NOT Panera.

  16. Please report back on your visits. I'd love to visit Woodchuck and pick up some rarer bottles for my collection.

That's not the image that came across here.

I cannot tell you how shocked I was the day I found out that STL Bread Co. was actually a whole nationwide chain called Panera as kid. I figured it was just an STL thing. It's still kinda weird to me to a tiny extent, mainly due to just being used it to seeing it called that on a daily basis.

EDIT: I also saw the ghost bottle

  19. I don't care what it's called. Their food is delicious. I totally respect the hometown pride though.

STL town pride is a two way street honestly. On one hand, people here really love this place despite its glaring and obvious flaws. On the other hand, they also have very thin skin and will get super defensive about it if they hear or see people trashing St. Louis. I'm guilty of doing it from time to time myself. Hence St. Louis little man's disease as I mentioned.

I've never tried it but people seem to like it. Typically the people I see buying it are blue collar men for some reason, same people who guzzle Mike's Hard Whatever and Twisted Tea by the gallon.

  25. Can anyone recommend any must-try beers from Seattle, specifically breweries around/near the Ballard area? Would need them to be in bottles/cans as well, not growlers.

I have a buddy who just moved to that area and is attempting to put together a package for me, but could use some advice.
