I thought people discussing pumpkin beers what the low point in this thread but this analogy discussion might take the cake.

Lagunitas High West-ified is pretty damn delicious. Mad respect for them consistently putting out quality offerings.

High West-ified went extremely quick in Michigan unfortunately. I've still been checking around, but most places here was a one bottle limit and sold out in hours.

I'd disagree with Michigan for sure, Batch Brewing is good, but definitely not the best in the state.

No, Sam Adams is not the best brewery in MA. Earth Eagle for NH wasn't what I was expecting, but I did enjoy the place when I went there. Need to go back some time.

Never heard of the one in CA, even though it's relatively close to me. Their beer list looks pretty basic too, not that it's a bad thing. Being Yelp-based is the problem of the list I think, the place is 5 stars but only has 60 reviews

It got NC right. Everything else is probably wrong.

Illinois is wrong. Argus has a great tour from what I hear. Their current production facility is in an old Schlitz brewery so the history component sounds about right. But their beer is shit compared to most breweries in Chicago.

Dollar for dollar, I think they're the best brewery in the world. No other place offers such great quality across a range of styles for that price point.
My buddy picked up a sixer of some (helps that he works in a bottle shop) so he said he was gonna give me a bottle.
One of the breweries getting real hype for their hoppy beers. They appear in this documentary called Blood, Sweat and Beers which was on Hulu (doesn't appear to be on there now) and a really good watch, IMO, if you're a beer fan. Basically, it's run by a few twenty-somethings who graduated from Carnegie Mellon and they put it in one of the most downtrodden cities in Pennsylvania because the mayor of that town gave them a free place to live while the brewery was being built. They've gotten wonderful praise for their northeast style IPA's, with their General Braddock's IPA coming in at No. 2 on Paste Magazine's Top IPA List.

I'd never even heard of Argus before. I really liked Earth Eagle though.

LOL at Sam Adams. Way better stuff in MA like Trillium or Treehouse are the first that come to mind. Foolproof makes sense for RI. Allagash is fair enough for ME since its the most popular out of the state (Would have been cool to see Bissell Brothers though). VT is tough one since there are a ton of fantastic breweries there. I've never had Earth Eagle but I'm gonna be in Portsmouth for New Years so I'll check it out while I'm in town.

There's a few goodin's in Portsmouth. A friend of mine works at Great Rhythm which just opened in August. Were only doing 4oz pours at the time, but perhaps it's changed since then. Good beers

Thanks, I'll have to check them out! My girlfriend currently lives there so whenever I'm there we try to explore the area a little bit but we haven't actually made it to any of the breweries yet for some reason. Been meaning to go to Stoneface, Portsmouth Brewery and a few others as well.

    Grabbed a few bottles today:

    Avery Tweak
Griffin Claw Hazlenut & Coffee Flying Buffalo Stout
    Oddside Hipster Brunch Stout

Beer is such an expensive hobby.

My dad just snagged Hipster Brunch Stout and some other mint-esque stout from Oddside today. No clue about either of em though.

Hipster is always very good and probably my second favorite Oddside beer. The mint one is Mokka Munt, and it's also very solid. Andes mint tasting almost.
