Hit up some brewieres in Denver over the weekend. Finally got to check out TRVE which was awesome, the beer was good and the metal music in the background was perfect.

I love that they've been opening early when there's a line, definitely helps move things along for sure.

Totally agree, 2-3 weeks has been ideal. For Treehouse stuff as well.

We know it from the silence

Got up to Tree House on Saturday for the second time ever. Got Single Shot and Green cans, plus a 2L growler of Green.

Drank most of the growler before Saturday night festivities.... The hangover was almost worth it. Great beer though.

I've been dying to try anything from them. Currant Mouth sounded awesome.

    So recently I've tried:

    Celebrator Doppelbock
    - First doppelbock I've tried, it was really tasty, almost had a maple quality to it.
Chimay Blue - Definitely a sipper, a bit boozy-tasting for me, but I could definitely appreciate it.
Trappistes Rochefort 10 - Wow, this was intense and unlike any other beer I've had. Again, a bit too much alcohol taste for my liking, but super creamy, rich texture. Tasted kind of like a sweet wine to me. I nursed it over the course of an entire basketball game.
Ommegang Abbey Ale Dubbel - This is a new favorite for sure. Super drinkable, with spices, fruits, and the Belgian yeast taste all mixing together beautifully.

I've also been drinking a lot of Sierra Nevada Otra Vez lately, it's super refreshing. Good balance of sweetness and tartness. Reminds me I need to get my hands on Ommegang Rosetta again, which walks that same line between sweet and tart.

Managed to get a six pack of Born Yesterday. Very excited to try it.

Also picked up two bourbon aged beers from Rochester Mills, as well as a red velvet beer from them. It's a good beer day.

I got the opportunity to make a beer for work but my boss said it had to be anything but an IPA or pale ale and I had to use a simple california ale yeast, which leaves a broad range of things to make but I was stumped since I didn't want to make beer styles we've already had on so far. That's a challenge because we've had 30+ beers on already because our small system is only 40 gallons per batch so those turn over within like 10 days and they comprise half of our tap list.

So I originally wanted to do a hopped-up imperial red but couldn't get the malt I wanted for it so I transitioned into an American Strong Ale which I've never done, or even thought to do. So I basically winged the recipe with my boss, but he let me take full control and didn't veto anything. Hoping that it comes out well, searching for a bittersweet feel to it with the sweetness of the malt, but Beersmith had it at around 82 IBU for around 8.5%. I missed my target gravity a bit (1.074 instead of 1.081). Pretty nerve wracking to use someone else's money and ingredients to make a beer. If I made this with a buddy and it sucked, big deal. But if this sucks and sits on tap, I'll feel bad.

Had a Black Tuesday vertical flight at The Bruery last night, 2012-2016. Very fun to do, I definitely liked the older ones better

I'm skeptical of all-in-one brewing things, so I'm super curious of both of your impressions on the grainfather

I was as well, so I definitely put in a bit of research before dropping that kind of money. It has surprisingly
great reviews pretty much across the board. I'll be sure to let you know my first impressions after using it though.

Anyone out in the Kalamazoo area? Bells Black Note is for sale, and there's little to no chance I can drive up there today to grab some.

Ooh, didn't know they released more bottles in K'zoo. If I didn't have so many errands to run today, I'd swing down there and grab some for ya.

Just booked a trip to France, Belgium, and Luxembourg for February. I'm finally going to be visiting Cantillon and I don't think I can emphasize how insanely stoked I am.

What's everyone's Election Night beer of choice? My fridge isn't very full so I'm starting with Sam Smith Chocolate Stout then to Xocoveza if things get bleak, maybe Phantom Carraige Cranberry Broadacres if things are looking up

I went to Cigar City yesterday just for this occasion and picked up some Florida Man and White Oak Jai Alai. Swung by Total Wine earlier tonight to pick up Lagunitas Born Yesterday. I've had one of each.

Made a 50/50 mix of Xocoveza and Calm Before the Storm tonight. Basically tasted how I expected since they are two similar beers anyway, ha

I bought a sixer of Anti-Hero for election night, but ended up busting out the bourbon. Pretty much sums up my feelings on the night.
