I listen to all of Paul's stuff, not sure how I let this album slip by.

 

I'm listening to Double Fantasy for the first time and it's a really nice surprise. Haven't ever connected much with any of John's post-Beatles stuff, but I'm really liking this one

 

Honestly I would love it if the complete amount of footage gets released at some point. Watching the documentary just left me wanting more haha.

 

I just wish they had this kind of footage for the other albums.

 

Finally got around to Get Back pt 3 this weekend. Was so much fun watching this all. I'm not sure I ever understood the full context of the rooftop concert before watching this but it was so fun watching it. I really could never have too much of watching them just do their thing.

I've never seen the original Let It Be movie so I think I'm going to try to do that now

It's unbelievable how truly amazing the white album Esher Demos are. They honestly could have released an album of these demos, as-is, and it would have been lauded as one of their best.

On another note, you guys ever listened to the albums in their mono releases? They sound absolutely pristine. Apple Music has the US Albums collection that has mono versions of I think every album.

 

"Savoy Truffle" is really one of my favorite songs about my best friend's chocolate addiction as he's trying to fuck my wife

 

Late here but the mono box (just the cds slept too hard on the vinyl) is among my more treasured pieces of physical media. I think you can make an argument for Sgt. Pepper’s and the white album going either way but in general I think I’m in the mono except the final 2 camp

agreed. all of the pre-sgt. pepper's is best mono too though.

 

I really hated the new mix on Sgt. Pepper’s. It just felt so lifeless to me

I will very half-heartedly defend his mash-ups on Love as interesting. But otherwise yeah certainly not his dad

 

TBH I never get into the weeds with different mixes, maybe I should, but I don't

 

Damn, I disagree with the Giles hate. I think the Giles white is spectacular and to a lesser degree Abbey Road, too. Agree something is off about Pepper but even then it doesn’t really bother me, it’s just a decent alternate version.
