I wondered that as well, unless they’re just gonna pay part of what the owe and use the rest to open the bear and slowly pay off the rest. I guess we’ll see in season 2!

  3. The Ending Of The Bear Season 1 Explained

I think it’s implied that the cash found in the cans will be enough to pay off Ciceros and the IRS; allowing debts to be paid and giving Carmy the freedom to turn the restaurant over to a new name and menu

There’s a couple things about the ending that don’t totally make sense to me, but the season as a whole was so good I didn’t really mind. And the ending is a nice setup for next season so that it won’t just be more of the same.

I am also assuming that in vague, non spoilery terms, Richie's actions towards the end of the series are going to be explored a good bit in season 2. I can't imagine that he won't continue to be the loveable thorn in Carmy's side.

I'm curious what the deal is with the extra can of tomato sauce they showed on the ground (unless I'm just hallucinating that).

Also it didn't seem like the restaurant was struggling at all with their day to day expenses, only two big expenses that needed to be dealt with before Carm could do whatever he wants with it.

I'm five episodes in. The friend who recommended it to me says the last three episodes get very stressful. Gonna need an italian beef to cope.

The last three are excellent. I love how stylistic this show gets. I wish 7 was longer but I get why it's that length. It was just thrilling to watch it all unfold, I wanted more of it. I have no doubts the next season will continue with the wild filmmaking though.

It doesn’t make sense for his brother to borrow all that money just to hide it and then pay it back. I’m guessing even Cicero knows he’s not getting that money back.

What was the last show to blow up like this? Everyone I know seems to have watched it.

  11. Severance maybe? Queen’s Gambit?

    Squid Game probably

Yeah I feel like squid game is comparable. I think this is bigger than severance and probably the queen’s gambit in terms of how many people watched it and how quickly it blew up.

    Queens gambit was pretty massive

  15. This might be the biggest show of the year but there is no way it is pulling even close to the viewership numbers of Squid Game.

Definitely seems more in line with Severance or Yellowjackets to me

It feels bigger than either of those to me personally. I know some people that watched yellowjackets and severance but most people I know have watched this.

I think this being on FX/Hulu helps vs being on Showtime/AppleTV+ when it comes to the bigger show between Severance and Yellowjackets.

Yeah if yellowjackets was on hbo it’d be even bigger I think.

Finished this last night. Episode seven is a damn masterpiece. I enjoyed the finale, though everything felt like it was wrapped up a little too cleanly. Regardless, I am very onboard for another season.

Oh but also, how dare they tease me with the intro/build-up of New Noise and then never ever give me the "CAN I SCREAM!". And they had the nerve to do this twice in the season? Absolutely criminal.

the creator discussed it as saying the scream is the release, whereas the riff just builds tension. since tension is the name of the game with this show it makes more sense

The second time I watched the finale I wondered if this was intentional in some way, so this rules to hear

Definitely makes sense, but I had to listen to it right after the finale because i couldn’t take it anymore.
