Do we really think it hasn't already been casted yet and just hasn't been released to the public?

I think it has been, just like Ben was out as Batman even before JL was out and we just started hearing about it.

I feel like Chandler would be so good at the "I don't know what the hell is going on, IDK if I trust you yet, but I'm going to try" mechanic of early Batman/Gordon dynamic.

 

Kyle Chandler is brilliant but I feel bad that he mostly shows up in supporting roles as as cops and dads or cops that are also dads

 

Armie Hammer feels like the safest pick. I don't love it, but I'm sure I'd get on board with it fast.

 

I used to feel bad, but I think that's what he wants? I don't remember where I saw it, but I think I read that he enjoys the smaller roles and just living on his farm.

The story just made the rounds again, but it's been clear Affleck was done for years now. Hollywood Reporter broke the story back in July 2017.

Kyle Chandler for Batman but he’s basically just Coach from Friday Night Lights and fights his villains with wisdom and tough love.

Also Matt is there and he’s still making me cry about his dead dad.

Not that I think they'll do this, but I think Kyle Chandler would be fucking fantastic. I'm still not thrilled about the idea of aging Batman / Bruce down - I think older and more wizened is much more interesting than young and sprightly. Probably just sick of so many damn prequels.

 

I'm fine with a younger Batman as long as he's still an experienced Batman who's gone up against several rogues off camera before we get to him. I think you can have the best of both worlds. I think we can all agree none of us want to see the type of young Batman that is training and finding his way.

Robert Pattinson struck me as too young right off the bat but I know he's not a kid anymore and the more I thought about him the more appealing the idea got, especially with a good filmmaker.

 

I see what you did there. Nice.

 

I just don't want the the bad guys as crime families to get all the bad guy time. I want a real rogue villain to focus on.

I would love that. Have a villain hired by them and as the plot goes on, Bruce finds out more about the Court.

Since WB/DC appear to be abandoning the shared world amongst all of their heroes, at least for now, taking an expansive approach to Batman in particular may be the way they go. Sort of like what Sony was planning to do with the Amazing Spider-Man, only hopefully not terrible in every imaginable way. Going this route would be how they do that, for sure. I think it may even be a relatively safe bet, to be honest.
