An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I'm kind of amazed they didn't use the master's end of episode 1 dialogue in the trailers lol. that whole scene had some intense "we shot this for the trailer" vibes

Yep that character is my guess too. That they're going to do a "hiding in plain sight" reveal.

Unless: they pull out some crazy shit and reveal it's Carrie-Anne Moss, her "death" was staged, and she's actually alive I think it's the first prediction, but the latter is my wildcard guess.

I agree with your wildcard choice too. Was going to include them in my original guess, but couldn’t remember if we saw her body after the initial death

Wouldn't the Jedi have obtained her body upon the start of the investigation? Or it's going to be a whole conspiracy thing where there's a sinister plot that's at play with the higher ups of the Jedi Order...which makes me think this whole show is about the discovery of the dark side and the fracturing of the Order during the High Republic era

Saw it at a theater screening, have not rewatched it on Disney plus yet. Really enjoyed the experience. I am an avid reader of the high republic and they nailed the visuals and the scene with the vow. I am super excited for the rest of the season. I would absolutely pay to see episodes weekly in a theater. It felt like a movie experience in the theater. I am sold on the concept for the show. Feels like Andor level potential in storytelling but with Jedi.

One theory is read that I would not be shocked if it happens: is "the master" we are seeing so far is a Red Herring. They're either just the Sith apprentice or not even a real Sith Lord, and they're going to get killed off, and the real Sith master will be revealed by the end of the season

Oh I’ve been fully expecting that ever since they first showed the dude in the mask in the trailer. And I hope it’s true.

Really enjoyed these two episodes. Mae having to kill a Jedi without a weapon actually connected some fun canon things together. In the Darth Vader: Lord of the Sith comic by Charles Soule, his first mission is to find and kill a Jedi that had escaped Order 66 and Palpatine refuses to give him a weapon. Vader has to kill this Jedi, take his saber, and bleed the crystal to gain his saber and be solidified as Palpatine’s apprentice. I’m getting the same vibes here that if Mae can accomplish this, then she will rise to apprentice status. This also helps make sense of the Rule of Two for me as others like Ventress, Savage Oppress, and the Inquisitors do not undergo this trial and are therefore not viewed as true Sith apprentices and only as assassin’s or subordinates. I’m hoping the show will develop this more.

I’d be bummed if we got Carrie Ann Moss for only one scene.

i’m into it so far. some wooden acting even by star wars standards but it’s refreshing to get a new story doing new things in this world

Yea, I’m digging it so far. Not a Skywalker or Palpatine in sight. Refreshing.

I saw vague comments about ep3 breaking Star Wars. I don’t want to know why people have said that until I see the episode. But I’m not sure what they could do that would be worse than The Rise of Skywalker.

tbh, i didn't have a problem with the acting? maybe i'm just not seeing what everyone else is seeing. not that it was incredible or anything, but it was serviceable.

This feels very Prequels to me. Cool story with questionable acting.

Nah, I thought the same initially, but I think it’s just the same planet that they’re on for the majority of the rest of the episode.

I love how the bad faith toxic ragebait accounts biggest thing is "A fire in space?!?!? lol that isn't scientifically possible!"

Dawg this is a universe where space battles have sound. This is a universe where time is synchronous on star systems lightyears apart. Not to mention motherfucking space wizards. It is a space opera fantasy that doesn't have to abide by the laws of physics. There are plenty of legit things to criticize the first 2 episodes on, but they pick the dumbest bullshit possible because they have a complete lack of media literacy and have to say something other than "I don't like that there are non-white people in this".

"bUt It BrEaKs CaNoN!" as if they give a fuck about anything except the OG trilogy, ROTS, and Legends/EU - y'know, the thing that's explicitly not canon?

Honestly to say most of these guys ever fucked with Legends is a stretch. The only Star Wars thing outside of the live action films they ever liked is probably KOTR and that is it.
