I'm not coming at you or anything! I don't think I would have thought about it that much either if I hadn't listened to that podcast. I certainly didn't have the vocabulary to explain why it made me uncomfortable when I saw it in high school or whatever it was.

Jared Leto is the worst part of Blade Runner 2049

 

I've never read the books, so I can only speak to the movie.

I simply can't wrap my head around it. He defeats the world, right? He "gets the girl" in the end, right? Even though the movie obviously shows him being an asshole, he's still ultimately portrayed as the hero in the movie. The whole premise of him having to defeat Ramona's ex-lovers so that they can be together is also something that really rubs me the wrong way. Maybe I'm missing something, and I really could be, but why can't she have her own agency? She seems absurdly objectified. Again, I'm sure in the graphic novels, this is expanded upon and it's more nuanced than what I'm saying, but it comes off as a major yikes to me.

 

i know part 1/2 are dubbed on hulu and part 4 just recently finished airing dubbed on toonami, i have no idea where/if they're streaming dubbed anywhere or just on blu-ray releases or something but the dubs exist...somewhere

 

Still good though. So is Prisoners, as long as we’re talking Villeneuve movies
