  2. No, nominated. Silence of the Lambs won that year.

Oh :tear: I think that and Toy Story 3 are the only ones ever to get noms right?

Oh that's cool. I think Up is a good movie, but not even among Pixar's best. The first 10 mins though crushes though, and probably what people think of most when that movie is mentioned.

I just wish team Moonlight had proper time to really take in their victory and give proper speeches. The confusion and meme-ification of the whole thing really took away from their moment imo

  7. Still laughing about "Oscar-winning movie Suicide Squad," which I still enjoyed.

I'm pulling a blank or unaware, but are they really close? Either way, awesome moment.

Crazy how Affleck said Denzel was such a huge influence for him too. I guess he didn't know Denzel was not a fan of his...

I think it was more he's not a fan of sexual assault/harassment.

I don't want to give Denzel too much credit. He might have just been miffed he didn't win. I'm not sure how much benefit of the doubt rich guys deserve.

  14. Agreed, his response could have easily just been a result of losing the award and nothing against Affleck. Who knows though.

I don't recall him ever reacting that way at losing in the past. Dunno. He'd have to be a real asshole for that to be the reason. Especially when the guy just said he looks up to Denzel.

Maybe because he thought he deserved it? I sure thought so.

It's not like Denzel is out here speaking out for sexual assault victims. Ego and being an asshole are rampant personal character traits in actors, especially at that level. I'm not saying either reason is why Denzel looked unhappy. But I wouldn't go out of my way to claim one way or the other either.

Yea, he looked pissed at everything whenever he was shown, at least during the part from where I started watching.

Aside from the mis-announcing of the BP winner, other highlights I should check out from the show?

The Matt Damon appreciation segment, and the following presentation of the Best Original Screenplay award.

Has there been any indication that Affleck's disgusting behavior on the set of I'm Still Here was part of the act of the film? I've been thinking about this for a while ever since the allegations resurfaced. Because if so I hope it was worth tarnishing his legacy forever to make such a pointless film. And it also means he's a sociopath in addition to a creep for not caring about how is actions affected his victims.

Listen to Casey Affleck on the WTF Podcast. He was on it a couple of weeks ago and discussed the making of that movie. There is no more secrecy around it and it's pretty well-known that everything you see was planned out.
