oh yeah my mid year list is huge and im missing a ton

 

What a show. I love this band.

 

Matty said something about a lack of divides in humanity and they played Loving Someone. The lights turned rainbow and I started crying a bit.

 

Heard She's American on the radio yesterday, and was so jazzed.

 

this is my sleeper hit of the year so far. i haven't listened to it all the way through in a long time, but find myself coming back to a few songs every now and then - a lot more than i can say for some albums that i liked better than this one at first.

going for a walk on the first cold evening of the year back in April while listening to "Paris" felt like a dream, "Nana" made me cry in the middle of the street a few weeks ago, and "Somebody Else" is fucking me up this exact moment. this is a very good album by itself, but a spectacular collection of songs when factoring time and place.

 

i just cant separate what i went through during the release weekend from the album itself....it did so much for me and will be my album of the year no matter what for it

Yep, this album is fantastic. I pretty much listen to at least a song or two from it daily.

i wasnt around when it dropped but i just need to say how much i fucking love the change of heart video, it is so fucking gorgeous and beautiful and emotional

 

It's taken me a while to find the words for the title track but it makes me feel like I'm underwater with the sun.

 

Just listened to this after taking a long break, and holy cow does it hold up well. I was worried after being gone from it for so long, and listening all the way through would be a little exhausting. It hit so hard. Pleaebenaked, and This Must Be My Dream were bigger standouts.

This record is special goodnight.

2016’s Midyear Best #8: The 1975

 

I small, very small part of me wishes they were bigger here in the States. I would love to "Somebody Else" on the radio or any of their songs really. But America is so stuck in their mainstream ways. There is so much more out there and The 1975 would be so fucking huge over here if people gave them a chance.

But I like having them to myself in my own little music world.

I'm like that with a lot of British born bands to be honest. Must be the Welsh in me.

Like I said before, I wish they would get more air play here, but I kind of like having them all to myself. You know what really confuses me? My roommate is from Paris and has no clue who The 1975 is.

MTV snap chat had a video of Matty talking about the band and their music style. It was really cool.

 

Yeah most people I know, even those who don't pay much attention to music, knows The 1975. They had the #1 album here in the states.
