Why does it need to be specially categorized because they're British?

Yeah I think that's an extremely odd qualifier

  3. who cares how they qualified it?

I care because it's offensive. You wouldn't say something like "This is a top 5 Japanese release of the year so far," I mean for fuck's sake.

And it just doesn't make sense. Music is music

Would you keep separate lists for music based off of the nationality of the band/artist? It's really off-putting.

  7. not really. in Canada some charts separate things into top Canadian releases and top general releases. maybe they're from the UK.

my main point is that this seems like a silly thing to deride someone on when they're simply saying they like the band. why not be inclusive instead of putting people down over such a small qualifier that is commonly used to describe music?

People discuss film and television in relation to their origin all the time. Nobody seems to be up in arms about that. When people discuss British television shows or Italian cinema, is that strange or off-putting?

I'll lump bands together based on genre, male/female singer, happy/sad mood, major label/indie, etc. I feel like country of origin is a perfectly valid way of lumping artists together.

Nbd. No flag on the play. No harm no foul. Do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars, etc.

Agree that it was kinda weird and unnecessary but I don't really find it to be offensive, personally

  10. Best album from the suburbs of North Dakota I've ever heard. Hands down.

    I definitely classify by suburban/urban/rural.

There's just too much music to NOT use that criteria.

    Does it honestly offend you?

Being British, I take interest in British releases. It's not like I'm going to exclude it from my overall list. But just for you: This might end up being top 20 of the year in my opinion.

Tiny Moving Parts has that on lock down!

(I know they are from Minnesota but they made their name in the Fargo area)

If we're classifying music, the new Cassino album is top 5 Splash Mountain Southern Folk for me.

I read that interview as next summer being summer 2017 followed by new record sometime after.

  19. Please Be Naked is so good. Almost made me emotional even though it has no lyrics.

  21. Went to my dentist on Thursday morning for a deep cleaning

Her: Would you like some music? We have iPads with Spotify loaded onto them and headphones
Me: Hm, about how long does this procedure take?
Her: From the shots of novocaine until we're finished might be like an hour
Me: *immediately grabs iPad and puts on this record*

Last time I went to the dentist she put on a Pandora playlist of Jimmy Eat World for me. I mean, Pandora sucks but I was cool with every JEW song I got.

Now I wanna go to the dentist again in hopes that I can play this album. Wtf is wrong with me?

Making ultimate setlists inspired by @Craig Ismaili is a lot of fun, so I did one for this band except I stretched it in a four-song encore instead of Craig's proposed two. Some of it definitely looks similar to their setlist from this tour, but I made a few changes that I think would really take it higher. It was not easy omitting certain songs I would have liked to add. Lemme know what you think!

    1. Love Me
    2. UGH!
    3. Heart Out
    4. Settle Down
    5. A Change Of Heart
