I've heard the Sound on local pop radio. Also in a car commercial. I don't like hearing music I like to listen to on my own in contexts like that. They sold out one of the biggest venues in the area in moments, how much bigger do they need to get?

Headlining Glastonbury. They should be the biggest band in the world in my opinion.

Complaining about one of your favorite bands being successful is wack .

And with the right choice for their next American single I could see them finally headlining some US fests. They've already sold out Madison Square Garden and The Forum, two of the most famous arenas in the US, without ever having a single in the top 40....one big hit could push them to that next level.

I don’t think there was any danger of this band chasing success if one of their singles had taken off. Like, if The Sound had gone platinum we wouldn’t be getting an album full of songs that sound exactly like it. They clearly do what they want without worrying about things like sticking to a single style, or being afraid to mix styles in a single song, so that fear is totally unrealistic to me.

Being upset theyre successful is bad. I like that they're kinda huge but also wondering where the next step is because I'm not foreseeing MFC making them a Grammy band. But we'll see. I just don't like not getting tickets until days before lol

ILWYS was up for a Grammy, best packaging sure but to act like they're not within reach of being a Grammy band is, frankly, absurd

Nah like playing the grammys. Are they in those categories? I don't pay attention to that. Also bands like Norma Jean and early November have won or been nominated for those things and these guys are way bigger

that was also a different era? you can't compare things that happened ten years ago with how things are now, the industry is different

True. Also I'm not a Grammy follower at all. Also TEN confused me because they made a fb post about it.

End of the day I just wonder where they're gonna go because I thought the Sound was gonna be that song for them that takes them everywhere.

I feel like they’re the kind of band that will just keep getting bigger and bigger without a specific single blowing them up

Norma Jean was huge for their genre but that's metal. We're talking pop categories for 1975

the sound was a big song for them but not the biggest, somebody else is the one that's taking them places now though, and it should have been clear from day one that somebody else was the big pop home run from this album, not the sound

downtempo sad synth pop was THE wave in 2015-2016 and somebody else perfected the formula, it was always going to be this albums biggest song

I also think it's clear they're gonna keep making albums with potential hit songs. Could never imagine them abandoning their pop instincts. Somebody else still being popular in alt circles is gonna make hype for this album be huge, with all the new fans they picked up after ILWYS you can easily expect a bigger interest in the music for cars roll out

I'm going off which song I have heard around more, and which is on 2k, which is the sound. That's awesome that Somebody else is still hitting tho

I judge popularity of singles off the number of YouTube views the video gets. The Sound has 34 mil and Somebody Else has 32 mil, however the sound's music video was out for a while before Somebody Else's video was out

Huh, it’s almost as if they’re, like, a really good band that a lot of people love or something. Go figure.

Sometimes I forget just how wide reaching they are. They appeal to a huge demographic, the age range of their fan base is like 12-35

Haha no yeah I’m still amazed at how huge they are, but they deserve it.
