Is this like when my chemical romance became the black parade or the Beatles became sgt peppers

Knowing how obsessed with detail and nuance Matty and George are about taking inspiration from other groups, Drive Like I Do releasing a record could do wonders for Pop-Punk.

EDIT: Not that there isn't innovative things happening in the genre right now. I just really want to see the boys' take on it since they were so clearly enamored with the early 2000's scene in the states.

Maybe they will do another early Coheed cover

Now I want to hear Matty sing "A Favor House Atlantic"
@heymattrick would never forgive them for that though

Maybe they don't care, but it seems to me that they're at the biggest point in their career so far right now and a name change would be... an odd idea.

    Sending my love

Wait, so The 1975 is discussing lofty plans for the future? 90% chance they change their minds along the way and never mention it again. They are kings of this. Remember that Christmas song we're still waiting on? The Loving Someone video? The She's American video?

To be fair, novelty songs and music videos are different than announcing a huge project

they scrapped a couple music videos so their album plans must be bullshit

They actually made those videos iirc too but didn't like the outcome/final products so didn't want to release them, not like they never happened.

She's American is shelved because "the world has changed since" the videos were made. Quoted from their manager replying to a fan

    rage and love

I really just want The 1975 to continue making music and touring as The 1975. Of course I'd love to see what they put out as DLID but I would be sad if that meant the end of The 1975.

Just because the trilogy will be over doesn't mean they have to end the band.

I'd rather have them end the band when they want to and maybe do something different together than keep The 1975 together out of obligation just to end up unhappy and breaking up.
