Sucks I won't be able participate in the explosion of this tread tonight when both the song and video premiere, but will for sure sift through the bajillion pages of discussion when I get back tonight

 

So intrigued as to what this record sounds like, I’m probably gonna stay up til 2am to hear it because I’m weak

People is a great single but it would’ve been cooler as a split A-side with the Greta 75

I think it would have thrown more people off by releasing it later or not as a single.

 

Imagine hitting play on Notes never heard People until that moment, I would have fallen out of my chair haha

 

I think, like other people are saying, it would’ve been much cooler to hear in context the first time, and I think it sets up a really different record cycle than the one we got

Anyone else refreshing the stores every few minutes hoping pre-orders go up early or am I just crazy?

 

The beginning of Notes is easily the worst thing about Notes. Chop the first 3 songs / 10min of the record, turn it into a seperate EP, add a more traditional intro, and a 7/10 record instantly jumps to an 8.5/10.

 

Yeah I kinda feel the country-ish/folky side of the record could’ve been it’s own separate thing. They did it well, and that’s not to say I didn’t like it or whatever… it just kinda breaks things up in a way that drags the whole record down IMO

 

Idk, I think the country/folky stuff on Notes is the best part of the album along the 90s shit.

Love Notes. Just view it as sick summer playlist/mix tape with the genre switches.

 

I actually return to Notes the most of any of their albums for the past year

 

Notes is kind of a mess (I love it anyway), but the stretch from Then Because She Goes through If You're Too Shy is one of the best in their career
