I’m in the minority that thinks ILIWYS is already too long and should’ve cut some tracks, so hopefully not a double album.

 

I hate this thread now.

 

The only song I skip on iliwys is the title track. That’s what puts the debut slightly above it for me. It flows better and never feels overlong.

The title track into the Sound is genius. If I had to cut a song it would be She's American but even that would be a sin

 

I really hope it’s not a double album. They hardly ever work.

That being said, I want a movie.

vince staples - summertime 06
m83 - hurry up we're dreaming
panopticon - the scars of man on the once nameless wilderness
zomby - with love


that's just some modern examples. not to mention all the classics like life after death, all eyez on me, speaerboxx/love below, physical graffiti, 1999, etc

 

i like it when you sleep is one of my all time favorites

 

for a modern example i wouldn’t cut a song on miranda lambert’s the weight of these wings. double albums work if you can sustain the mood and make it feel like a journey (this is one of the reasons why iliwys works)

17 tracks practically is a double album haha. Why would it “not be good” just cause of its length? The only thing that would judge whether or not it’s good is song quality which none of us could comment on...

fwiw, I wasn't knocking double albums, I meant the separated release schedule of a double album. Something about it doesn't agree with me. The albums I can think of that did that (Coheed, Death Grips) the second release towered over the first one.

The second afterman record is better, has Gravity's Union which is a top 3 coheed track and is more experimental.
