I listened at school after a shitty day on my classrooms smartboard. I fucking hated it the first time I heard it lol

I was literally an hour late for a class project meeting because I played it like 10 times and then listened to the back half of the debut. One of the girls in the meeting was also a fan, but didn't like the song.

I remember after the first time I heard it, I was like "I don't really like this but I bet eventually I'll love it"

    I was correct

The live version of She’s American was the song I first connected to most from the last album. Nice gateway song into what the rest became.

I heard Love Me and loved it and was ready to put it on my Halloween playlist

I also planned my breaks around Zane Lowe every time Matty was on to release a new song

Some girl at a bleachers show saw my rose gold rectangle necklace and said “oh i liked them until their second album.. the lyrics and music video for Love Me scared me.” and I stopped talking to her.

  8. I adored Love Me immediately. Reminded me of INXS

I get a Peter Gabriel Sledgehammer vibe from it.

It's definitely the love child of Need You Tonight and Sledgehammer.

  12. Hearing all the singles from that album cycle wrecked me. The music videos really captured the emotion in the songs too. I had a really rough break up years ago, and the calm honesty in A Change Of Heart combined with the heartbreak and humour of Somebody Else took me back to that time. It was overwhelming but cathartic. Not many people know this, and I'm not getting into detail, but I was affected by traumatic events at a really young age and ended up abusing alcohol for a long time. UGH! and Paris have always been too relatable for me, but I'm so glad those songs exist.

And what a way you won me over

I still don’t love Love Me (or INXS) but I adore pretty much everything else (and I really like sledgehammer)

Also, I’m so hyped for this.

Each of the singles worked well on their own but once they were taken in in the context of the album they took on so much more life

Like the loneliness of Somebody Else hit from listen one, but the duality with Loving Someone levels me.

    not a doctor

I was in my college dorm room with a hope that it would be an amalgamation of Bowie and Peter Gabriel.

I got exactly what I wanted and turned it up so loud that my R.A. stopped over who was clearly not as excited about the song as I was.

Hasn’t this been on here a while

Seems more like an alternate entry for “You”

Well it's not "You" at least, cause that one is listed by itself in their directory.

Their entire directory is here: ACE Repertory

Edit: It's probably just some old demo or something. There's a lot of stuff in that directory..

I really like "Love Me" after seeing them play it live. It's a banger live.
