Love hearing the positive effect music can have on people. This is wonderful. Some of my favourite albums have since been tarnished by all the seedy goings-on of 'the scene' back in the day, which hurts, but I'll never forget what they did for me.

I'm driving two hours to see Charli XCX next weekend and I am going to force my friends to listen to this entire album.

I mean, “Chocolate” was on a NOW cd. This is a new level of critical appraisal, but I think everyone’s just happy the band is getting bigger!

I can relate to ILIWYS saving my life, no fucking doubt about it.

I will admit I'm having a hard time listening to the new album as a whole. Overplayed the living bejeezus out of the singles, so with the exception of Love It, I tend to pick and choose with this album too, annoyingly. I think it's saying a lot about how I consume music, and that if I'm excited for an album, I neeeeeed to hold off or show a little restraint in the future when it comes to pre-release material.

This album rollout and the album itself have been a major formative soundtrack for my 2018. This album, Sister Cities, and mwYs Untitled/EP have all been a major comfort and soundtracked some of the darker moments of this year for me. This album has been the light at the end of the tunnel in a lot of ways and I’m forever appreciative to the band for that. Just thought I’d join in on the gushing and just share that with y’all.

Side note I first heard this band in like late 2012 I think? The first Sex music video was my introduction. Can’t believe how far they’ve come.

Ha it's kind of what I've been saying for a while though. Seems like every day there's something new they've managed to fuck up, and it's about time people actually picked up on it rather than pander to the whole 'good guy Bethesda' bs they've somehow held in the gaming community for far too long. They're on par with EA now, and it's refreshing for people to actually acknowledge that instead of just making memes out of their glitchy, subpar games.

  10. I think I'm definitely guilty of hyperbolizing but this band just makes me so excited!!!! not a lot of bands do that to me anymore and I hope it never gets too intense but I'm not trying to hide my (maybe obnoxious) feelings

ive seen way more hate for bethesda than love since fallout 4. like the amount of people i see complaining about "bethesda fanboys" at least triples the amount of bethesda fanboys i actually see

That slipped by me then. I enjoyed FO4 at first, which is why I maybe didn't see that. Usually it was just people preaching about Bethesda and CDProjektRed.

  14. funny you mention those three albums because I would put them all up there for me too (probably Hop Along too). Sister Cities especially just happened to come along just at the right time and spoke directly what I was going through (mostly my grandfather being sick/passing away).

That’s a well-written and engaging opening for a review that contends throughout that these are kids who are out of their depth. It has a really great rejoinder at the end of the piece as well.

I’m not saying it isn’t mean. It is withering. But in my book you’re allowed to do that if you support your argument, which this review does better than any other piece I’ve seen on that album.

That’s wild to me. He barely speaks about their music outside of generalities and influences. The 1975 review at the very least covers the album. Accurately, imo
