    Let it run Supporter

I've always been a moderate 1975 fan. It was hard to escape the hype on AP for the first album, but I was never really invested in the band like so many other fans. I don't think I've watched a single interview/read anything about their personal lives, so that bit of ignorance probably hinders some of my connection. ILIWYS was a step up, IMO, and I really connected with "Nana" on a deeper level than most of their other songs.

I'm excited to return to the older stuff (and the EPs for the first time) and get a feeling for this in the context of their catalog. I'm not going to be hyperbolic and say that this changes pop music or w/e, but I will say that I really, really enjoy this record and think that this is the first time that I "get" it.

Radio listeners are going to have a very different idea of what "music for cars" means.

"Be My Mistake" is beautiful and on the second listen I completely forgave the two lines that stuck out on the first time.

On my second listen, and honestly, somebody inject Petrichor into my veins.

Also, even with ILIWYS being my favorite album, I think the singles work better in the context of this album than they did on ILIWYS. That album still feels segmented (if that's the right word) to me, where the singles weave in and out of this list nicely and make the album feel more cohesive as a whole.

Feels like I'm floating during "Inside Your Mind". This is as close as the band gets to EP sound for sure.

I'm going to be writing a pretty hefty review of this album tonight or tomorrow. I haven't done anything journalistic-wise for a while.

Whoever said "Mine" sounds like Matty's trapped inside of La La Land, you were dead on. Probably going to steal that description.

even with how much I love ILIWYS, this album is much more of a brisk listen. for a while ILiWYS was a slight chore to get through. this eradicates that issue, and being 15min shorter definitely helps

Gotta agree with Jason that Be My Mistake is the weakest song on here and it's not even close.

He just didn't get it at first, thought there wasn't anything special there. Over the course of this rollout, he fell for all the singles and gave ILIWYS more listens. I'm sure my obsession helped haha.
