  1. The lengths people on the subreddit are going to just to find a "leak" is ridiculous.

You can't even talk about it and they can share musical clips on a 48 minute podcast. Wtf?

  3. It is quite weird. Cause they're from Chicago! That's very much not UK press.

  4. If they can share clips I feel like I can say I didn't catch the ... You make me hard, but she makes me weak ... line the first time and was like wait, what did he say?! the second time through. Had to check the lyrics to make sure I heard it right.

That’s definitely the most eye roll inducing lyric i’ve heard from him.

  6. This album (and that song specifically) have a few.

I don’t find that line worse than some of those found on the self-titled.

Hey, the 80s has tons of cringey lines in otherwise popular songs, so the 1975 are probably doing something right :hearno:

I mean, let's be honest, if we heard somebody else come out with it then we'd probably be slating it. It certainly isn't a great line, whatever way you swing it.

  12. It, and the line about hair smelling like feet, take me out of an otherwise pretty song. Even if I'm kinda over hearing band dudes sing about getting it on with fans when lonely/it being a mistake. It's my least favorite track on the album for those reasons. (And I didn't say it's worse than lyrics they've had before.)

Put the embargo back on I don't want to hear anymore wack stuff like that

Someone else did say it was the most eye-rolling lyric he’s written.

I haven’t heard the song, it may very well be my least fav too. I just don’t think a song by this band could give me more pause than Girls (which is still one of my fav songs by them bc it is maybe the most catchy song of all time).

Seems so jarring to me that there's even a song like that on an album featuring Love It If We Made It.

I said it's the one I don't really like. (And there's an entire track read by British dude siri.) Heh, so I agree.

I really love the clip, so I’m excited to hear it but also who knows, it could end up being my last fav too

I already don't like it. That's kinda disappointing. From what you've said and I've read though, seems like it's an anomaly?

Listened to the snippet cause of this, sounds like the type of song that relies on good lyrics, so not sure what to expect.

  21. I like lyrics, especially in a sparse, acoustic, song that’s almost completely lyric/vocal driven, so I pay more attention to them than most. YMMV.

There’s a few other lyrical moments I don’t love, but that’s the only song I think coulda been cut and I wouldn’t miss it.

  22. I am gonna bet most people listen once or twice and skip it from then on. (And then make snowflake smasher jokes.)

All this praise about how this album is their best work yet, but I'm getting the sense it's going to be one of those albums where people pick what they like from it and bin the rest. I'm wondering how this flows, more than anything, is anyone really talking about it in the reviews?

  24. @Jason Tate gotta ask, what are the big differences for the intro track?

To be honest that's exactly how I felt about ILIWYS...

A lot of people talk about how they love the flow of it, but it turned me off midway through with how instrumental it was. I enjoy the songs, but I just don't listen to it as one coherent piece. Always picking and choosing.
