really crushing line so is "distract my brain from the terrible news," really hard to overstate how current events contributed to my drug addiction from 2015 to this year

Both have their charms; intimate vibes from such a small room, but then the full on energy you feel when around thousands of people all singing and dancing in unison. It's magic

my big question right now....how does the album get from sincerity is scary to this? i cannot wait to hear those three songs in between

Ties with Paris as some of the most potent lyrics I've heard in a song, from these guys or otherwise. Wow

im getting a lot of parallels with paris in terms of music and lyrics here. its almost like a "where are they now" update on the narrator in paris

  9. Basically just saying "fuck this band existing."

This band doesn't exist if they're playing 250 cap shows.

First time i saw them play was in an Arena and they need that space because me and everyone else at that show danced their effing faces off.

I love every single one of these songs on a level I can’t even comprehend, all just about on an equal plane, and this one is no exception.

I wish his vocals were a little more pronounced, but I think this might be my new overall favorite 1975 song

  14. Not only do I want good things for bands I like, but having the money to do the shows they want to do is incredible and enhances everything about the band. They're built for this.

Also imagine being some of the preeminent songwriters and producers of your generation and being like yeah let's spend the time playing dive bars. GTFO.

Some of these lyrics are really hitting me hard, but that's no surprise because Matty always knows how to say how I feel better than I ever could. This song is gorgeous

I’ve been holding out for money reasons but I finally just pre-ordered the vinyl. Song dropkicked me over the edge. Fucking LOL at the order confirmation email.

lets be honest, they wouldnt even be writing music like this if they stayed in small little clubs. their live shows getting bigger and bigger has gone hand in hand with their music sounding bigger and bigger.

  22. I thought you said you saw an amazing show.

    Heh. I kid I kid.

I think the first time I saw The 1975 was at the Doug Fir. A small ass little venue in Portland.

    It wasn't even sold out.

Even then all I was thinking was "this band is going to be headlining massive venues at some point."

This time through they're playing the Memorial Coliseum.

Definitely my favorite single so far. Could do without the robotic backing vocals in the verses, but that chorus is a blast.

  25. Exactly. The band's been built from the start to get to this point, it's what they've been going for. They're not touring the country in a little van and making music like this if the last 5 years didn't happen.
