T-Pain doesn’t use auto tune because he’s a bad singer haha, it’s a completely intentional effect

 

if you’re flat/completely off the note melodyne sounds really fucked up with the settings it requires to have the desired effect. you still have to get pretty close if not spot on for it to sound right for the t pain effect. you hear it in all the t pain clones that came after it who clearly couldn’t harness that effect the way t pain did. because they didn’t understand t pain was still singing well behind the effect.

 

Just turned on Buy U a Drank and that song is a certified classic.

 

I saw a T-pain show a few years back and it was honestly amazing, that guy knows how to perform

 

huh? the t-pain effect has nothing to do with how good of a singer you are.. it's just what happens when you set the tune speed all the way up. that's also usually done with a real-time corrector like auto-tune, not melodyne.

 

T-pain is a master at what he does and I don't even like his music, people are ridiculous lol

 

people are just ignorant and have never actually used these tools themselves. or if they have they clearly don’t understand how they really work

 

yeah it’s 100% dependent on the time setting you have it on. and if you have it at the fastest reaction time and aren’t even close to hitting the right notes you’ll quickly find it sounds extremely wrong and fucked up

So anyway TOOTIME might be my favorite 1975 single and I really hope it blows the fuck up and becomes their biggest song its magical

iliwys is a top 3 track for me for reference though, and TOOTIME reminds me of the second half of that so hard
