I think it just automatically appears on release day. To be honest, I have never done it before, just noticed the post on the 1975 Instagram.

 

While having a discussion about bad British teeth today, I quoted "if she says I gotta fix my teeth then she's so American", and mentioned the band's name.

My co-worker said, "Oh is that the band that sings ♫ 'Stacy's mom has got it going on...'♫". I basically turned into the white man blinking meme.

Oh she also got it confused with the Bowling For Soup song "1985".

Hearing "The 1975" and thinking "1985", then wrongly associating that as the same band as "Stacy's Mom"

 

That’s incredible. So many layers to that misunderstanding.

 

I feel like no one is appreciating that Bowling For Soup actually has covered Stacy's Mom

Also, every time I show the 1975 to someone that’s older than me, they always say, “They should be called The 1985 they play 80s music not 70s music” and it’s one of my biggest annoyances with this band haha

 

half true! Jerrick and Mitch Allan wrote it together and then both released a version. Which is also why its funny that SR-71 was brought up

 

Anyone think the audio that plays on their countdown videos is from the album? I kind of like it and think it could add to a cool newer version of the album intro.
