Three separate people who ragged on the last album have been like “wait, THIS is the 1975? I like this!” when I put it on. So there’s clearly something here.

 

Hype as shit for this album. Legit jumped out of the shower soaking wet with shampoo in my hair to listen to Give Yourself A Try live. ILIWYS gave me a reason to wake up in the morning during a dark period in my life that I'm still getting through. I'm glad I'm still around for this album cycle now.

 

Heard it on SiriusXM AltNation last night. So exciting!

 

Give Yourself a Try is a very good song.

I like the honestly of The 1975. There's something refreshing about it. I'm glad they don't seem to be catering like they easily could.

 

The lyrics of GYAT are incredible and if Matty is able to maintain that level of excellence over the course of the album I don’t know what I’ll do with myself

That band's had like multiple genuine hits now.

 

I love Sir Sly, but their level of popularity is another part of modern alt rock that surprises me.

I’m surprised for how popular they are that I was able to get to the front row of their Coachella set only 10 minutes before they started

 

I dunno, I guess they never struck me as mainstream, that there is a bit too much like... darkness or alternativeness, I don't really know honestly. I never listen to alt radio, so most stuff surprises me haha
