There's pretty clearly one person experiencing things differently than everyone else here, and spoiler alert, it ain't FTank

Haha you guys actually use like, middle school level bully tactics with indirect comments and blowing smoke up each other's asses to feel superior. You piss and moan about any other band being brought up in the thread and act like The 1975 is the end all be all to music. Good job.

Gonna go take my rehashed hardcore and have a good one.

  5. This got me to listen to a full thirty-ish seconds of a Counterparts song. I made it until I saw the record label and heard some noises/sound.

Totally irrelevant to the topic at hand, but go ahead and open that can of worms. The band isn't a reflection of the scum you're trying to associate them with by making that statement.

  7. They should drop off the label then. Helping make money for a guy that lied to my face isn't going to ingratiate me to their mediocre songs.

Yeah no one actually did this, I have no idea what thread you're reading

There's nothing mediocre about their music. If it isn't for you, fine. But acting the 1975 is the worlds greatest music act is silly. Counterparts is widely praised in that music community.

damn that rehashed hardcore line really got to this bro

did you know there was hardcore in the 80's too?

Hahah I am aware. I am also the farthest thing from a "bro."

Nice response? Idk what to tell you though, plenty of other bands have been brought up in this thread and no one's "pissed and moaned" about it; this is the only time I've seen that anyone's had any sort of reaction to it and even then, people were only commenting on how weird it was to bring up that particular band.

No one's ever acted like The 1975 are the end all and be all of music. I believe the assertion to which you're referring was that not all music from the 80s is the same lol.

You've got it all wrong, he can't be a bro because he doesn't curse

  15. There's plenty about their music that is mediocre -- starting with the lyrics. Dunno what you're talking about with your next sentence as I've never said that, so uh, good one.

And I've literally never seen anyone in the music community "praise" the band before today besides Jake Denning and I follow it pretty closely.

The lyrics are great, just not for you. Some people truly enjoy how Brendan conveys his views and outlook on life.

Some people also enjoy listening to Matty mumble songs about doing coke or 17 year old girls, but no one is calling that mediocre because they're praised as this amazing band that does no wrong.

pretty sure bro 101 is defending a hardcore band signed to PN on an unrelated internet forum

Again with this weird comment that people think the 1975 are flawless... where is this coming from?

  19. No the lyrics are mediocre to bad. You *like* them, that doesn't make them well written or "great." Enjoyment doesn't make something not mediocre.

I've personally called quite a few of The 1975's lyrics bad over the years, what are you talking about? lol.

Also coming from the guy that just about shit himself when I compared Deja Entendu to Bright Eyes.

Mediocre to bad why? Cause you don't relate to them? Cause you prefer something else? That's just you're opinion "lol"

You're the most confrontational moron I've ever encountered online and that was a terrible comparison. Certainly didn't "shit myself."

They literally used Bright Eyes as a reference for the album lol, so yeah it was an awful comparison.

oh god here comes the "_____ is all subjective" argument with no respect to craft, context, intention, or any thing that actually matters
