Now... we just have to wait for them to post the 2-3 other posters they made that fans already found over the next week or so. I can't remember what they said on them. This was one of them, one of them was Matty wearing the VR that they already posted, then there were two other photos like this. So I'm guessing they post those over the next week to keep building excitement, then they go silent for a week or so until June 1.

I sincerely hope other bands don’t take this as an example of how to tease new music lol. Honestly I generally enjoy rollouts/tease campaigns for things I’m looking forward to, but at a certain point even I start to lose interest.

Obviously I’ll be back in when the single’s out, but basically I’m only checking the thread now to see if there happens to be concrete news before June 1st. I’m not even checking their social media anymore. If their goal was to keep constant excitement before June 1st I think it’s only worked for the most hardcore fans.

Agreed. I don't even have them on social media anymore. This is literally my only source of information for them. I got tired of the teasing and cleansing of their pages a while back.

I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

I'm seriously disappointed they're missing the mark on the marketing for this cycle so far. Has no impact on the music, which is already in some people's hands, but man.

I've been over the constant teasing and "just a few more days" posts for months. If they had been totally silent about things until May 1, when the countdown started, then I'm sure all of this would be having the effect they intended it to have on me. Instead it's really not fun or cute anymore, it's just exhausting.

Like I love the band and their music, and obviously this is not going to effect how I feel about the new music whenever we do finally get it, it's just that the whole pre-release campaign has been a total miscalculation for me.

with how disposable music is and how impatient fans are i wouldnt be surprised if this is by design to test our patience. i'll wait forever for new 1975 so i really do not care how long it takes

I mean, I think of the 1975 every day now, so it must be working.

Non sequitur but this song (and album) is really good:

Being impatient for music, even with your fave bands, is such a weird thing for me. I get being excited to hear new shit but like, it'll come when it comes. I can't even keep up with all the new albums that I'm interested in that come out on a weekly basis. And even if I could, there's a million music rabbit holes I could go down and hundreds if not thousands of albums I'd probably dig from every previous decade.

Literally seven great albums came out today:
    Now, Now
    Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks
    The Dead Tongues
    Ryley Walker
    Parquet Courts
    Ray LaMontagne
    Michael Rault

That's not even mentioning great new singles by Christine and the Queens, Betty Who, Anderson .Paak, Dan + Shay, and Phantogram. There's plenty of incredible music in the world, just figure out how to trip over it while you wait.

Never said I was impatient or unwilling to wait, for the record. Totally different conversation from what I was talking about.

Got excited for a Pharrell album, realised it was just a single. Hopefully the last time that happens in the next month.....

A Pharrell album is not something I'd be excited for. His last was dogshit.

Whilst I agree, I'd also be lying if i said I skipped some good beats on that and awkwardly bobbed along.
