Heh I mean even I voted against decoy, but I hate seeing good songs get blown (or completely shut) out.

This is what drives me nuts about the brackets, you’d think singles would lose their advantage among people who generally like deeper tracks. Granted, singles are singles because they’re likable, but it’s a bit of a bummer when we vote for days and arrive at a (imo lackluster) single.

Pessimist vs. TWYG is so hard cus it's like picking Rock Paramore vs. Pop Paramore. Easily two of my favorites in their whole discog. I have more history with TWYG, but idk I'm getting pulled Pessimist for some reason.

Yeah. I didn’t pick TWYG because it’s a single. That’s silly.
I missed voting for it but When it Rains would’ve been my song to win. Or Lovesick Melody.

 

I mean, I don’t actually get upset about any of these, I just go into each with heavy preconceptions and am thus always surprised lol

Definitely not biased toward or against singles. That said, I think the big radio hits from Riot! were all big radio hits for a good reason. They're crowd pleasers that also happen to be great songs, especially TWYG.

Perspective: That's What You Get was a single but it was the fourth single of the album cycle and released over nine months after Riot! had been released. That might make a difference to some people who only listen to mainstream singles, but I imagine that most people involved with a bracket on a website forum such as this heard it in the context of the album (even if they got into Paramore years later).

Even Hallelujah was released after the album came out.
