No I do like it. It's just boring

 

But really, stuff bores me. Seems like most stuff I've tried to listen to just doesn't stick and I usually find myself distracted and not paying any attention to the music.

I feel like I'll never find an album that I love as much as the albums I already do.


Eliminating brand new from my rotation really affected my relationship with music in general.

Little late but when I think music is boring it’s because it feels predictable or for lack of a better word, plain. The notes/melodies either never take a unique turn or drag on, or they never lead into even more predictable but still catchy parts. those words will obviously apply to different things for different people, but I think it’s a valid word to use and the feeling is the same. I like Jason’s point that being able to disengage from music could be a positive.

You ever see a mosquito in your house and then it disappears. And you are on your guard and being super cautious, doing your best to not get bit. Then, you suddenly start feeling itchy like you’ve been bit in multiple locations, but you haven’t let the mosquito get you. They’re like...phantom mosquito bites.

1 the mosquito did get you and you didn't notice it immediately because when they bite you they release some kind of numbing agent similar to lidocaine I belive

I think it’s psychological because the sensation of being bit only lasts until I inspect the itchy area, and then it quickly dissipates. It also pops up in like 10 locations over the course of a few minutes, following the pattern of being bothersome, me checking to see if there’s a mosquito there/if it bit me, and the feeling going away. They’re in my head man.

 

Worse is when one of those demon centipedes disappears below a piece of furniture or some other crevice.

 

Surprisingly, haven’t had a lot of run ins with centipedes. Spiders and mosquitos run my apartment complex though. The occasional alligator, while not an insect or arachnid, spices things up every now and again.
