Somebody once told me the thread would forget me

 

I didn’t grow up with any connection to more classic albums so these questions always make me feel musically primitive. However when I took History of Rock in college I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I liked Pet Sounds.

 

There are a ton of classics I've never heard, plus a few I didn't vibe with at all. I grew up listening to metal so I was very tempted to include a metal album I've always loved (not sure which one). But, I ultimately prefer showcasing albums that break moulds and are a bit tougher to connect with upon first listens

That’s a good idea. It’s only been pretty recently that my tastes have expanded much outside the scene. Ive historically been very narrow minded musically haha, and I struggle with music that sounds “old.” It’s really bad. I’ll answer this question in 5 years, today it would just be my all time personal favs.

What kinda metal ya into?

 

A bit of everything! Heavy metal, power metal, death metal, folk metal... I just want to understand the vocals and I enjoy emotional, memorable instrumentation
