I'm alright. I have a cold (again!), uni is boring and I just wanna go home. Thankfully, my day is nearly over!

I’m eventually going to record my own stuff but I recorded a Julien Baker song (can be heard here). I’ll re-record it at some point (especially for better vocals) but it’s a good test at least. I’ve never been able to record my electric guitar so that’s what I’m most excited about.

Hope you can recover quickly! Infections are the worst. Just don’t do what I’ve done in the past and forget to take my antibiotics for a day so it took extra long for an infected wound to heal

In New Orleans there’s a group of people who are like full-time “pirates” who do charity stuff. They came and walked dogs at the rescue I worked at, which was amazing. They gave us doubloons.

I put in my two weeks yesterday at work, which I'm pretty sure shocked my boss because she basically begged me to stay. I felt pretty awful but also really relieved and was looking forward to being more present with my family. Today she offered me a raise and extra perks to stay on for the summer and now I'm just like did I make a huge mistake yesterday??

I’d say probably not. It’s kinda like when you break up with someone and then they start making all these promises. Too little too late imo. You quit for a reason. At least, that’s how I look at it.

 

Enough to make me question my decision.

Thanks for this. I keep reminding myself of the reasons that made me want to quit, but there is a little part of me that is like "you're making a mistake/don't do this/you're walking away from an amazing opportunity." Making adult decisions is hard.

 

When we were trying to make a decision whether my wife would stay home with the kids or we would put them in daycare, my mother-in-law said this, which really resonated and helped us make that decision:

"When you're looking back on your life, you're probably not going to wish you spent more time at work and less time with your kids."

I saw them with Willie Nelson years ago. They put on a good live show, lots of talented musicians.

And typically plenty of drugs available if you're into that kind of thing.

 

One of my buddies had an extra ticket that he's giving me for free so I couldn't say no. I'm moderately excited TBH. Mainly to hang with him because it's been a while, but it's been a while since I've been to a large ampitheater show and Dave hasn't ever bothered me.

The spoiler ain't my shit though. I'll probably load up on beer before I go to because I am not paying $10+ for a Bud Light at Northerly Island.
