Weird.
My plants really took off when I installed a drip system in the boxes. Guess I wasn’t giving them enough with the watering can

 

You could’ve at least sent me a Chick Fil A coupon too.

 

Ugh that’s the worst. I had some far right family visiting 2 weeks ago, and some far left coming into town on Friday. I just try to change the subject as quickly as possible.

 

We have 2 types of tomatoes, some poblano peppers, and eggplant in our backyard garden, plus 2 varieties of hops and some other plants.

In our community garden plot we just have a zucchini and some sweet potatoes (plus marigolds to help keep the bugs away).

You can just cut the tomatoes down at the top if they’re getting too tall.

 

Asparagus is delightful, even if it turns my pee stinky.

 

sucks.

I feel like I'd rather burn the family bridge than deal with my conservative aunts family.

yeah I know I can cut them. I need to look up how to do it right because I don't want to mess up the plants. they are so great and have a TON of tomatoes on them. at least the cherry tomato plants do. the big one only has 1 tomato so far.

 

How are your hops looking? My plants seemed to stop climbing, and lots of the leaves are turning brown. Not sure what I did wrong

Pretty good so far. This is year 3 for one plant and year 2 for the other. They’ve already hit the top of the line I have for them to climb.

Did you maybe overwater them? Or there could be a pest or disease that infected them.

 

I have them on a timer system and they grew 8 feet last month with no issues, so I think the water is good. I’m looking into the disease angle now, and it kinda looks like downy mildew (yellow and brown spots on the leaves)
I’ll look into some sort of organic fungicide.
