I actually enjoyed the third movie when I was a kid and I don't really want to ruin that. Plus I liked that they brought Casey Jones back since he sat out the second film.

it is. if you didn't like it as a 9 year old, you'll hate it as an adult. it's awful. i refuse to even own it haha.

Speaking of the third movie, my lady and I have been on a huge TMNT kick and we attempted to watch it last night. Its even worse than I remembered and I always ranked it the lowest out of the seven films. I remember seeing it in the theater as a kid. Ive seen all seven films in the theater and aint stopping!

 

Taking my girlfriend's niece and nephew to see this tomorrow, for an extra boost of nostalgia, we'll be in our hometown and going to the old theater I saw everything at growing up.

 

Y’know, while y’all are buying up TMNT merch on your movie high, you should look into the comics.

IDW does a pretty good job of collecting the old Mirage comics that started it all, which are super gritty and cool and fun imo. I never got into the current ongoing book, but a lot of people really, really love it; Sophie Campbell, a cartoonist I like a ton, works on it now. And, that Last Ronin book was a pretty big hit. Plus, the legendary Stan Sakai just wrapped up a new crossover between TMNT & Usagi Yojimbo that I’m looking forward to reading. And, I think the most recent TMNT crossover with Power Rangers was drawn by Dan Mora, who’s ridiculously good imo.

 

i have several of the big hard bound volumes of the IDW stuff but i'm the world's worst about actually reading stuff lol

 

I’ve just always found comics (these days) to be too expensive for how short they are. I have some and will buy more in the future, but it’s not something I’ll probably ever be a regular buyer of.

 

One of my favorite things about the IDW continuity is that they finally used Ace Duck for something that resembled his action figure.

Like, he was one of the first figures and not only was he just a second's worth cameo on the cartoon, but in the Archie comics he was an alien and a pro wrestler. Wild stuff.
