where would i be if i was my brain Prestigious

I kinda wonder if they are willing to split the cast and try a season of The Richmond Way and the Women's team at the same time.

So my only major complaint in hindsight is Nate's arc. Like, I don't like, or understand, how the conclusion to his story was for him to be happy just mulling about as an assistant kit man. Him leaving West Ham, reuniting with Ted, and getting a job that he was appreciated at as a head coach, would have been much better. I would have changed the whole arc all season, but to go from his 'wonder kid' extremely passionate and observant coaching style, to just being happy not doing that, was odd. I get the whole 'family is more important than a job and winning', but why not conjure up a resolution that gave him both?

Also, his girlfriend was an extremely useless character and they explained nothing about how her coldness went to warmness. She was literally just a bland nudge in the right direction when the plot called for it.

    So basically The Office/Billions/Homeland/Suits move.

Yeah when I think about the idea of them doing a women's team show, all I can think is that they'll fumble integrating the men's team into the show and will just lead to them doubling down on everything that made S3 not so great on the whole.

  5. Nate being head coach at the end of the series would kinda suck imo. Coming back as a kit man illustrates how apologies and forgiveness don’t necessarily mean everything goes back to the way it was. In the end he’s just happy to be a part of the team that he took for granted

A fair take, but doesnt change my mind of how i would have liked to have seen it end. Im happy with most all characters ends but Nates. And to be clear, i didnt want him to take the Richmond job (go Roy! Great end to his arc) but i did want him to find his own place at the top after making ammends and sit there happily and graciously instead of angry and cockily.

I think part of Nate’s arc is also recognizing there’s way more that goes into being a leader than just strategy, and he’s just not ready for it yet.

I agree with the first part, but I don’t think I agree with the second. What frustrated me the most about Nate’s arc (besides the warm reception back) was how little we actually saw of him as a manager. We get the suggestion at the start of the season that he’s a hard ass to his players, but other than that we don’t really see anything related to soccer that would suggest he can’t handle it. West Ham did really well all season. We know he feels bad about Ted, and Rupert seems to play with his mind, but does he feel guilt over how he treats his players? Does he embrace that for all his faults he’s still incredibly successful? Did he struggle with quitting or leadership or abandoning his team? Who the heck knows.

All that made the rest of his arc feel all that much more incomplete.

I kinda took the way he treated Colin and Will, and combined it with still seeing those aggressive tendencies to get to the “he’s not ready yet”

    Die rad.

I didnt like that there was no real Nate/Ted confrontation/ resolution. Like Nate just shows up for his first day of work and nothing is really said other than the $5000 fine part. I see that Beard accepting him at his apartment scene was crucial, but all the players just randomly showing up at his job with open arms is meh.
Only story line I REALLY enjoyed this entire season was the Roy/ Jamie friendship. Could ahve just watched a full season of them.

I wish they had gone a different direction with this last season. It didn't quite work for me as a whole. Nate, his girlfriend, the Bantr storyline, Ted's lack of development, etc. Some very weird choices that felt forced. Definitely the weakest season for me. It did have its moments though, and I'm glad I started watching this show. Very comforting, easy-to-watch TV.

Nate's (un?)timely death would have been a much more interesting development than his redemption.

Now that it's over, I feel no need to revisit these characters.

That's because Ted had his conflict resolution with Mama Lasso. Can't have it happen twice.

I liked the Jamie / Roy storyline a lot, and really enjoyed that it didn't go into a final confrontation that derailed the team (I was so nervous when it was hinted at a final love triangle fight). When they approached Keely and she put them in their place and they realized what fucking idiots they were, it was great.
