The pairing was so random and staged photographs that I didn't understand what was ever happening there lol. I don't think she's a stranger to the staged photos with bfs thing, but like their whole relationship was one and it was weird. Weird times. Still need to see his birth certificate.

She has TWO breakups to write about though! Gotta strike while the inspiration is hot!

 

You don't have to put out an album to be writing songs - and anyway, not every relationship is guaranteed to inspire her.

She's been mostly writing about Jake, John and Joe for years.

Point being, as much as I'd love a new album I kind of hope she really DOES take a break. I just hope it's not for a full two more years.

 

Two breakups from two boring people! I will try to take breakup songs about Adam Wiles and Loki seriously. If I could do it with Joe Jonas and Taylor Lautner, I'm sure I can do it again!

I'm a firm believer that most of her songs are greatly exaggerated for maximum lyrical impact anyway. She could take a song about a person she met on the street for 5 seconds and make it seem like they were passionate star crossed lovers.

 

It's her Springsteen-ian gift.

 

That's songwriting in a nutshell. She's said in more than one interview that she can write an entire song about a single moment, and that some of her songs have been about things she witnessed in other people's lives instead of her own, whereas some of her own relationships haven't moved her to write much if anything.

Yeah that's why I think it's silly (well one reason) when ppl act like she's a crazy clinger for writing songs about guys she's dated for 2 secs. I've always seen her as someone that takes a moment and makes it grandiose, and then inserts hints to generate publicity. Not that it isnt genuine at the same time. I do think the songs come from a very real place and a publicity place simultaneously lol. Queen of juggling both!

I honestly can't listen to Good Time because of him. It's insane, she KILLS it on that song, it's amazing how well crafted her verse is.... but fuck if he doesn't sound like trash and ruin the whole thing for me
