instagram is rolling out a feature that seems mostly for celebrities that allows for comment moderation

 

Asides from Kanye related stuff I never really understood why. In a business where everyone is waiting for a celeb's fall from grace, especially women, she made a calculated decision to make her brand as untouchable and immune to attack as possible and that's fine by me.

 

i dunno. that brand was built by playing into the whole innocent white girl victimized by scary black man thing. there's always been rumblings and rumors she's unpleasant and idk, i imagine there's a lot of resentment about the way she writes songs about people in the entertainment industry. obv there's sexist overtones to a lot of it but her whole career is kinda messy and problematic on her end too. basically: i think everyone's bad, 1989 is a good album, and i hope she owns her calculating side going forward

 

I feel like the main issue should be her taking advantage of the racist narrative surrounding her and kanye's relationship and knowing people would believe her over him and then exploiting that further to lie and make a big feminist moment for herself in regards to her grammy speech. Like there's something real slimy to me there that makes it worse than just regular lying.

The thing I hate most about her image is the oh golly gee shucks how did I even get famous I'm the underdog narrative! Like wealthy white girl whose family moved for her to hit it big? I don't really see the underdog in her but whatevs

my memory may be fuzzy, but did she do anything to exploit that narrative during her Red era?

 

I get 2nd hand embarrassment when she tries to be sexy.

 

I think this might be the first time I've seen her actually wearing sneakers in spite of You Belong With Me

 

I think she's just too posey and in her head, like it doesn't come naturally to her. There's so many ways to be sexy but she does it like a 13 year old trying to sing a song sexily in their mirror after watching too much Coyote Ugly. She looks so good and natural when just jamming out on her guitar and feeling it. I need her to do that again!


Also I'm glad this thread was bumped cause I was just with a friend giving her relationship advice and I'm pretty sure I lowkey quoted Cold As You and Dear John a lot lol but it was so applicable to the situation!! I just wanted to be like omg sis learn from Taylor's mistakes!!!!

 

I need her to release an entire album of songs like Cold As You and All Too Well and Dear John and Last Kiss that will just destroy my soul and make me cry for the rest of my life. That's all I want, Taylor!!!!

I think it's the outfit I wore on the first day of kindergarten.

 

Taylor's using the Instagram Story thang. She doesn't have Snapchat, right? This seems to be the avenue she is choosing for that kind of thing

 

Her hair looks cute tho.

 

I like the curls comeback but it looks like it's really humid or they're weighed down or something. The curls really soften up her face. She looks a lot younger, especially with diferent makeup. One pic from the nelly thing looked straight out of the Speak Now era

She tends to beat the same look into the ground each era (no hate, I stick with what I know too lol) so it's nice to see her do different things once in a while.

 

I was so excited to see where her grunge phase might take her. Bummer it only lasted for the span of Coachella.

 

maybe it was her manifestation of her inner demons of not being in love with Calvin anymore, then when they ended that she didn't feel the grunge inside her anymore.

Or maybe I'm just talking outta my ass

 

I just want to say, we are 9 days away from the 2 year anniversary of "Shake it Off" being released & 1989 being announced.

What I am trying to say is... we COULD get news in a week if she is surprising us all and sticking with her "every 2 years" plan. Crossing my fingers over here!

 

I dunno..she's been a ghost since the Kim/Kanye thing.
