I think it's more how our culture values drama and sound bites

ia. It was kinda belittling which is why I thought it was fake at first. It was pretty much a statement form of Mariah Carey's Obsessed lol. Taylor must be peeved cause I really don't think it was a great statement and usually her statements are more professional. She has a right to defend herself but it was def deliberately shady towards kim

 

It was petty and snarky and tbh probably not that different from what I'd say if I was sick to death of getting dragged into that family's drama when they (meaning him, since the Kardashians themselves don't have to go that deep for free press) need a quick PR boost.

Not saying it was a good look for Taylor, but I also can't say I don't understand.

I understand her being annoyed and upset but yikes at her feeling the need to drag Kim's autonomy into it. I don't understand that. I honestly thought it was written by some twitter stan who dislikes kim trying to be witty, not an actual pr statement oop. If someone said that about Taylor and one of her bfs she'd be rightfully upset and liking 1000 posts on tumblr about feminism. I was just surprised to see it given Taylors stance on these things in the past

 

You're not wrong, if that's what the intent of the statement was. And you're 100% right about how Taylor would probably react if it was the other way around. But I also think "Kim is only repeating what she has been told by Kanye West" isn't the same as her saying Kim did what she was told. I took that to mean Kim is repeating what she's heard from him - his version of what was said - as opposed to what she actually knows firsthand. I guess it didn't bother me as much because I didn't see her coming for Kim's autonomy so much as her not being a first-party witness.

Doesn't mean I'm right, but that's how I initially interpreted it, which seemed fair enough.

I get that. Maybe it's cause I've seen too many shady statements by celebs before but she might as well have said "I'll pray for you." but I guess that's the beauty of shade. It's subtle enough that nobody is 100% if it was an insult lol

 

If her whole response had just been "I'll pray for you" I would be dead and buried in my grave right now

Do her bfs sign NDAs or anything? Is that a thing celebrities do with relationships or is that totally ridic? I remember Joe defending himself a bit but I'm surprised more don't try to tell their side of the story but I'd guess she'd deny it like she did when John Mayer commented on Dear John lol. Calvin doesn't seem clever enough to clap back in a way that isn't sexist or silly so I hope he doesn't try it more than that

I guess idk how that applies to significant others. I guess I'm not familiar with NDAs at all tho. Like can they just not speak to the press? Can they vent to friends? What if the partner tells a friend something and the friend tells the press? Is that why Taylor authorized a source to talk about her relationship with Harry instead of doing it herself? I have so many questions lol. Being famous must be a trip
