My super Taylor fan friend made this play list for all the songs Taylor mentions in the Elle mag interview

Meh. If all that was a rollout for this article, it was a waste of a week.

It's the April edition of the magazine (do magazines come out a month early? I think so?) and it's UK Elle, so honestly I have no idea how you're going to get a physical copy

Allegedly she'll be on the US cover too, but I feel like they would have announced it by now if that were true.

Also magazines stop playing softball with Taylor and ask her one (1) question challenge!!!

Yeah if this was all for a magazine article that’s pretty lame..

"I think a lot of music lovers want some biographical glimpse into the world of our narrator, a hole in the emotional walls people put up around themselves to survive."

I have felt this way about music since the moment I heard "Hysteria" by Def Leppard at the age of 4. And god damn it I love this girl!

  11. She did an entire aesthetic shift with these IG posts. Whatever's happening, I don't believe this was all about a solitary magazine cover. She's just not gonna give us everything right away because she wants us to suffer more.

"It’s this alliance between a song and our memories of the times it helped us heal, or made us cry, dance, or escape that truly stands the test of time. Just like a great book."

Is this girl living in my head?

  14. She's two years older than me and her albums tend to be about whatever she was going through about two years ago so as a result every time she drops an album it has coincided with EXACTLY what was happening in my own life and honestly she needs to drop a pin because I demand justice for the years of dragging and forcing me to feel things.

I'm 5 years older than Taylor I believe and I get to live my life over 4-5 years later because of this girl. Like "delicate" really hit home and I was like "BUT THIS HAPPENED 4 YEARS AGO WHY AM I CRYING" but then I see quotes like that last one i just posted and it all makes perfect sense.

  16. She's just a brilliant storyteller. I think the critique of her that will always instantly get my ire up is that she's mediocre. That was certainly once true as a vocalist (and she's still never gonna be Ariana or Mariah or Beyonce but... that's not what she does) but as a songwriter? Noooope. She's on her own level.

I relate to her sad and angsty songs. Can't like personally relate to the pretty love songs in a literal way but I do love and appreciate them in a storybook kind of way. Like I relate even tho I've never felt that way about anyone.

  18. That's the part that makes her a brilliant storyteller. I was all about "Our Song" and "Love Story" when I'd never even been kissed and was in no imminent danger of changing that.

    run away with me Platinum

I've always found it very cool that she isn't an incredible singer, or dancer, and doesn't have a very set style, pardon the pun, but her songwriting is so good that that doesn't matter
I mean Janet Jackson and Mariah can do everything but there's only 2 of them let Taylor be Taylor

  22. I think it's dumb when people criticize her about writing lots of break up songs.

I've written music since I was 12 years old, and I'd say 98% of the songs I've written are about a break up, or some sad scenario I made up. I obviously can't speak for Taylor, but for me it's MUCH harder for me to write a happy song than a sad song. When I'm happy and content in life, my creative juices aren't usually flowing the way they do when I'm sad or depressed. I can write stuff on my guitar any time, but as far as lyrics go, if I'm not bummed or feeling especially emotional (good or bad), I just don't feel like writing. No inspiration.

I totally get why Taylor has so many new love/break up songs. That's when inspiration hits you in the face/heart.

Anyway, I Just wanted to put that out there.

I have a whole spotify playlist called "the saddest songs ever made"

I'd love to see someone tell all these artists "you make too many breakup/sad songs" :crylaugh:
