Don't care for Down Bad. But Daddy I Love Him might be my favorite song she's done in a while.

I'm aware that my moral opposition to leaks is just that I'm very type a haha

I'm Type A and not morally opposed.

That being said, if Swifties even considered that a music service like Apple pays royalties even on iCloud Library songs...she's gonna get hers with the leaked files, I'm sure.

I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

Haha it’s completely fine to say - hey, I don’t wanna listen to leaks because I want to experience it with all of the “era-related” content as intended…that’s cool and fun!

weird to say I feel bad for Taylor or be parasocial with it…and it’s “morally wrong” I guessssssss, but its so low on that bar it’s basically 1ft above sea level lol

These are the same fans I've seen say "Not to be a bit parasocial..." in the past few days. They're so close to realizing they're awful and yet so far.

Guilty as Sin rules too. Seems like these songs that are almost like little callbacks to her pre 1989 are my favorites.

The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived is a big standout on second listen.

Disappointed on first listen but I'll listen a ton more. There's nothing immediate for me personally. I absolutely adore Lavender Haze on Midnights and felt like it was a real mood setter but I'm a bit confused by Fortnight as an opener. The songs seem to have a lot of cool moments and there does seem to be newer things attempted here. 'Daddy...' was the closest to a standout alongside 'The Black Dog'.

Lyrically she can be very hit and miss for me but I don't think this is the side of her lyrics I like the most. Very very wordy and I'm not sure I care about the ~ folklore ~ (pardon the pun) behind the songs.

I Can Do It With a Broken Heart made me perk up. Some of this is a bit of a slog, but I don't hate it.

Kind of like the juxtaposition of the absurd song titles and the actual music. Halfway through. Down Bad, Tortured Poets Department and Daddy are my faves. I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I’m enjoying this.

I Can Do It With A Broken Heart is the ultimate "happy sounding, depressing lyrics" song I've heard in a while.

i hate giving credence to stupid theories about more songs/double albums, but i keep seeing people going to this Spotify art installation thing and posting the lyrics being shared there, combined with that video or two of her typing lyrics out on a typewriter. of those "lyrics", i could only hear one of them in the songs that have been released (it was in loml). either the rest of these are from the other 3 bonus tracks, or she might be dropping a few more songs.

She will assuredly be dropping more songs on new versions over the coming weeks/months as always.

  17. a lot of artists lately have been doing that. Ariana and Kacey Musgraves both released "deluxe" versions just a couple days ago their albums came out. i could see Taylor doing the same thing, as it seems to be a new trend.

  18. As someone who has probably only listened to Red, Reputation, and Folklore in full, this is maybe the best first impression I've had of an album of hers, probably because it's closer to indie-pop than pure pop music (not unlike the reason I like Folklore so much). That being said, she isn't kidding about being down bad - I can't imagine being the biggest artist in the world and writing so much music about Matty fucking Healy of all people lol, especially while you are seemingly in a happy and healthy new relationship (yes, I know it was probably written pre-Travis but it still feels so weird to put out there like this). Just an L of almost unquantifiable proportions

  24. Won't be able to listen to this until it's officially out, and I've stayed away from Taylor discourse for various reasons since around the time Midnights came out, but what is the general consensus on Midnights around here? It's probably my least favorite album from her (never heard the S/T), but is it generally liked? Wondering if I should give it another shot since it's Taylor season again.
