She absolutely told someone to, there's no way in hell someone on her team could make a change like that without her knowing, their ass would be toast

It’s interesting to think about how for someone who in the past was so self conscious about their image and how they were being perceived in the public is now in their I will do whatever I want with no rucks given era, and isn’t letting any criticism e.g. the variants and blocking artists get to then at all, at least in any sort of public way. It’s just fascinating to think about after everything Taylor has gone through.

Probably because she knows how much money she can make not caring about other people's perceptions of her lol, and I don't mean that in a necessarily bad way. She knows how to get that bag and sell herself.

I think she just doesn't care because she's transitioned to a legacy artist and building that legacy is all that matters now. She's already eclipsed everyone else by light-years. When her lists of broken records and achievements get read off years from now, nobody will remember or care about all the variants.

I just still am baffled at who continues to buy them. Surely it's a minority of diehards that need every variant. Maybe it's just consistent streams and purchases that keep her #1 because I feel like the amount of ppl buying every variant has to be fairly miniscule in the grand scheme of things. Or I'm just super naive.

I definitely think the variants are a pretty small piece of it. They’re just preventing her from going #2 if it’s super close

I mean, Taylor is still going to have 28k in actual album sales this week, versus about 14k for Chappell. And their streaming equivalent unit numbers were about the same, so these digital variants 100 percent made a difference.

There are probably 10-15k fans who buy all of these, and that’s enough to sway the numbers.

From what I’ve seen, some of the fans who buy the variants have decently large followings. They then post downloads for the extra songs once they are no longer for sale. They themselves are actually making money off of doing this if they have the blue check mark.

I think we will see a Kamala endorsement from Taylor sooner rather than later now after this.

Not to get political in a non-political thread, but man, if Swifties end up being the ones to put the nail in the coffin for Trump, I would find it very funny, and be very happy.

I think Kamala's social media team is already doing that really well haha, but boy would a perfectly timed Taylor endorsement to get out and vote speed things up

A couple years back, didn’t something like 136k people register to vote in one day because of her post?

I have a feeling she is working behind the scenes with the Kamala campaign on when to endorse and maybe has a special way of endorsing planned but just a guess.

Some Swifties I’ve seen say that they don’t think she will endorse at all because of the political climate (this was after the Vienna terrorist attack) and I just don’t buy that. I think she knows the optics of not endorsing and I think she genuinely wants her voice to be heard this election cycle. Also it would be kind of awkward if every other pop star came out and endorsed Kamala except for Taylor.

Given how in her doc she said she wished she'd spoken out sooner I'd be surprised if she didn't endorse Kamala. But idk
