Absolutely insane how the original and Taylor's version are essentially identical waveforms

 

interesting that the original "Wildest Dreams" was produced by Taylor Swift, Max Martin and Shellback. This one is Taylor Swift, Christopher Rowe and Shellback.

 

In under four hours of its release, "Wildest Dreams (Taylor's Version)" amassed over 2 million streams on Spotify, handily surpassing the previous record for the biggest single-day streams of the original "Wildest Dreams" (2014) on the platform, which had been set and reset only days ago.


This is yet another example of why the re-recordings matter

 

This new version is definitely a nice improvement.

 

Just the snippet I heard of wildest dreams sounded amazing. Didn't think the newer albums would sound much different enough to be "worth it" in that sense but it was rly good

 

I recently threw on a random older playlist at work, forgetting that it had songs from the original Fearless. Having listened to the new version a ton this year (which is so good), the old recordings sounded so weak and sad in comparison. Almost like hearing demo versions of songs you know? Which, is funny considering how nostalgic and important that album is for me.

New “Wildest Dreams” is good, but I’m not sure those later albums are gonna have the same kinda impact on me re-recorded.

 

Lover as a whole doesn't have nearly as much replay value for me as her other albums. I LOVE songs on it but I had to take some out of a playlist recently cause they were getting a bit stale whereas the fearless and reputation songs on the same playlist are still going strong

Also if you ever need a powerful two song combo, I had Ready For It and Paramore's For a Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic play back to back on shuffle and p sure everyone stuck in drive thru traffic with me was wondering why I was going so hard in my car. New getting pumped song combo!

The “we’re getting a surprise 1989 and/or Out of the Woods on Friday” crowd on TikTok is gaining quite some steam. Between Wildest Dreams, the glitch, the teal dress, Fearless signed cd costing $19.89, and now the Shania went pop “mama said that it was ok” video (I would take a feat. Shania Twain on anything Taylor does tbh), I can’t help but see their point… but also, it would make no sense so why would she?

 

I’m also surprised that no one on Tik Tok has pointed out that the tweet she made about “working on the next one” had exactly 89 characters. That tweet was before she announced Red

 

They did find that the release dates of Love Story, Fearless, Wildest Dreams, and Red also all end on the numbers “1” “9” “8” and “9”

 

It would be really funny if Taylor purposefully dropped red herrings because her fans have no chill, it's what I'd do

 

Finally remembered to listen to the new "Wildest Dreams." I think I'm going to have the issue across the board here that I've heard the originals so much that even the slightest differences sound off to me. This one sounds perfectly nice, but it's missing the magic of the original for me. The bridge in particular feels like it lacks some of the momentum the 1989 version has.

 

I feel like the marketing campaign for 1989 TV will be much bigger than Red TV, so I would be shocked if it was just fully a surprise drop. But I could be wrong.

It makes no sense for 1989 to come out on Friday when she’s pushing Fearless again for 10/1 ala Evermore via vinyl, signed CDs, etc. AND she’s got Red already to go on 11/19, but she hasn’t released any music from it yet.

But then again it’s Taylor’s world and we’re just living in it so sure, why not, it’ll come out on Friday.

 

Why would she change up her marketing plan from the first two rereleases and do a surprise drop?

 

I'm not buying it, literally every guess that fans have had for a release has been wrong, and then literally the only week they didn't predict something is when Wildest Dreams came out haha

 

New version sounds great to me

 

The shipping label was created for my Fearless LP from Taylor’s merch store. Been listening to it a bunch this past week digitally. Excited to spin it next week.

 

Does anyone else feel like her next non re-record album is going to be her best yet? Going off of folklore/evermore (some of her best work ever) and being able to examine her catalog while doing the re-records, I just feel like she’s going to really make something special next. I imagine a through and true Taylor Swift album infusing everything we’ve loved about her throughout her career.
