this being 2 hours long is overwhelming enough if they all are I don't know what I'll do haha

I just want a country-fied Sparks Fly version like I first heard it in subpar quality.

I skipped adding the demos that were bonus tracks originally for the same reason, you can't really.... do a demo again, huh

    Red will probably have Babe.

I just hope she does the song with T-Pain at some point.

If Taylor was able to get The Civil Wars back together even for a re-record I’d think she could pretty much do anything. Also curious if we’ll get her versions of “Babe” or “Better Man” with any of these

Yeah, I feel like you can fairly slot in "Better Man" and "Babe" with Red.

The only reason I think she's might not is that they are essentially not her songs anymore. The point of the Taylor's Versions is to essentially make the old versions irrelevant, but she wouldn't want to do that to the original Better Man and Babe.

    But yeah I want them

  13. I can’t imagine the rest will be 26 tracks. I think Fearless was only this long because she did all the platinum edition bonus songs as well. I have a feeling all the other ones will be the full album, any bonus tracks that were on special/deluxe editions, and then 5-7 vault songs. I hooooope they’re all 26 tracks though. The more the merrier.

same problem here as with Babe and Better Man though, "Crazier" isn't a Big Machine owned song, it's Disney. So while re-recording it would make it her version, it would be against a company who didn't swindle her out of her life's work. I'd be willing to bet she could own the master recording for Crazier for very cheap if she wanted to

@irthesteve You forgot the Bad Blood remix for 1989. I could see Kendrick coming for a vault track, too.

    I do not exist.

Have any artists listed as features confirmed they will return? That has to be the most difficult part of this project, right? Or is it straightforward?

    I know nothing!

I’m assuming if Taylor’s calling, you’re answering. That’s a delightful little royalty check.

I’d expect the sparkly 1989 Tour versions of her older stuff will be recorded for the 1989 vault. If only because I sort of doubt she has many unheard songs laying around.

I’ve seen a few people say that, but that’s also just not how things work in Nashville/country music, at all. There are songs I’ve heard cut by 3-4 different artists, including the co-writers who had credits on the song and the major artist who decided to record the song. I’m sure Little Big Town and Sugarland would not be surprised by this happening and would actually applaud it.

Plus, I’m pretty sure she’s on record saying it was “a great idea” for her to include “Better Man” on the Red re-record.

Yeah you're right, and at this point it would probably give the other versions a boost now as well, especially if Taylor's versions featured background vocals from them or something
