sounds more like Norman Fucking Roswell so far than anything by the collaborators on the album, but i’m into it so far

Wow. Really good. Whoever said we might not have gotten this album if it wasn’t for quarantine was probably right. I haven’t seen a ton of praise for Cardigan, but I love that one so much already. Exile is obviously outstanding. Illicit Affairs and Invisible Strings back to back was quite a ride.

 

seven started a little slow but the melody that kicks in around 2 minutes in is the kind of thing she’s so good at

 

the piano is fantastic too

 

august is the big bop here for sure

 

This is going to be a great Fall album

 

hope my fellow bon iver/the national heads start talking about some songs not named exile. there is other great stuff here guys! it’s okay!!

“this is me trying” was probably my least favorite so far but “illicit affairs” brought it BACK. i love the falsetto and harmony on the “him!” in the second verse
