Poor baby, you're starting to lose it.

    1) I wasn’t prepared for this comparison to be mostly accurate.
    2) Like 5 different parts of this song are now stuck in my head.

It's a better song than Mark's for sure!

I refrained from saying anything when he was recording this song because I assumed they were just filler lyrics to shore up the melody.

honestly surprised nobody stepped in & was like “are we set in stone on these lyrics?”

Wrecked 'em? Damn near killed 'em!

I’m guessing that he worked with a producer who is a good friend and that person took a backseat in offering constructive criticism on the lyrics because he knew Mark is working through some stuff

Can't wait for a preview to drop for the song that goes "I have my band, I have my wife..."

The music is pretty good though, I enjoy his music writing for sure. But yeah the lyrics need some work. Singing isn’t that bad!

The chorus of that song is so bad that I'm officially questioning any songwriting credit he's been attributed by TBS outside of drums

It's good to have others to filter out the bad. I'm afraid Mark has no filter now lol

Mark dropping some bad music was not on my bingo card this year.

  17. I'm curious to hear the full thing. Sure, he doesn't seem to be a good singer and the rough production isn't doing him any favors, but it's not like questionable singing and lyrical skills have stopped bands from the scene before

The comparison to Paramore's Jeremy made me lol. Now that was extreme! This time I expect the music to be decent at least, even if probably rough from a production standpoint

  18. You know what, I'm actually reminded me of Josh Farro or Cody from The Dangerous Summer's solo stuff.

Not sure if that's much more favorable

We really need a “Behind the Music” on tbs.

Behind The Music is on VH1, not TBS.

Wrecked 'em? Damn near killed 'em!

Matt Rubano said something similar on a podcast several years ago, but doing so would require a team a dozen of fact-checkers to make sure all sides of the story from all the different band members are corroborated, and that the whole story (at least what he was aware of until he got kicked out) is pretty crazy.

Do you remember which podcast this was? I’d be interested in listening.

I think it was a Going Off Track episode from 2013. Its a really good listen. He talks about how he discovered the bass and how he got the opportunity to play on Lauryn Hill’s album and his time in TBS.
