I debate that it’s the best album. It’s a perfect redemption story. From the darkest of times to the best. Fazzi’s r&b influence perfectly matched the dark, sexy undertones of the album. It’s an album full of reveling in the worst parts of the self, then having to come to terms with your choices. The grooves are so locked in. Adam has some of his most Adam-ass lines (“I not the one you love the most, I’m enough to fill the void your daddy left). It’s TBS’ grown and sexy album. I admittedly really fell off of them after that album because I was such a fazzi fan (having a further seems forever tattoo def helped). Love the first 3 albums but man, that album just hit me in the heart at the time

The songs are not good. They are bad songs.

I love New Again, more than most here. But dear god if I have to sit through another NA debate on this thread I'm smashing my head through a wall.

They posted this a couple of days ago which doesn’t say anything we didn’t already know

I feel silly, what does Fazzi have to do with FSF?

he just had a FSF tattoo and I talked to him once about how they were a big influence on him. That’s my favorite emo album ever so I just liked the idea that that album was influencing that record

I would've liked New Again if I heard any FSF in it

When I see that "S Old" stuff posted, it put the song "So Cold" in my head. So it was weird to then stumble into a FSF convo.

I'm of the controversial opinion that TBS has never released a full-on "bad" album. There are albums I like more than others (Louder Now, WYWTB), but I find them all at least listenable.

The only one I straight up think is bad is their self titled. I can’t get through it

    Self-titled >>> new again

Yep. For sure. Even though tracks 4-6 are bad. I can acknowledge that. But I’d spin it over NA anyway. I’ve gotten to the point where NA is the only album of theirs I need on vinyl and I think I’m just going to not ever get it. Which drives the completionist side of me crazy, but I don’t want to buy an album I will never listen to.

Ya I own it just to complete the discography. Summer, man is the only song I listen to from that album. Self titled has many bangers on it.

Oh yes. Easily their worst. Which sucks, ‘cause the best few songs rule & the excitement around the reunion was fun.

If anything New Again was worth it for this song alone.

    Sad Savior is good.

And New Again was worth it for the four songs I love so I hesitate to say it's bad. I just rarely even listen to the songs I like cause I'm an album guy and I dislike the rest that much lol

Sounds like you’re saying it’s a bad album. And it’s okay to love those four songs and still say that. I feel like that for Relient K’s Collapsible Lung. It’s a bad album, but I like a few songs a lot.

I’m also an album bitch, which is funny enough why New Again ranks high for me. Some fairly middle-of-the-road material on it, not all bangers. But, WYWTB is the only top-to-bottom listen that I hit fewer snags on.

Recency bias. What else is there to talk about? Every day it's either:

    - TAYF anniversaries
    - Rankings
    - JL and John Nolan history
    - Head Club being the worst TAYF track
    - Matt Fazzi being underutilized
    - Adam's live vocal (dis)abilities
    - Fred's a great guy
    - New LP delays

    There's nothing left!
