    Things have changed.

The correct saying is "I couldn't care less"

    this is all there is

If someone was not already into the band during TAYF, maybe got into them when they got more popular with Louder Now, etc, I can sorta kinda see WYWTB not being as impressive of an album.

But for me personally, an angsty teen boi who loved TAYF already and was counting the days to the release of WYWTB, it delivered in such an incredible manner, and it definitely still resonates with me that way.

In fact, Louder Now took a while to grow on me because it was a bit more radio-rocky and IMO has way more skippable tracks (with some incredible bangers in the there, like Spin).

I always feel like I’m taking crazy pills when I say this because I seem to be the only one who thinks this, but I will die on the hill that yes it IS supposed to be “I could care less” because it’s supposed to be sarcastic like
Oooo yeah I could care less aka no I can’t because I don’t actually care at all

Eh, seeing as 'I could care less' is very commonly misused, I will not give Adam the benefit of the doubt. Also - admittedly - 'I could care less' flows/sounds better on the song. It would have sounded weird if he did actually use it correctly.

haha I was talking in real life too not just in the song. Like I def have memories of people saying “I could care less” in media when I was younger in a very heavily sarcastic tone. That’s why I’ve always believed it was right to say that and not “couldn’t” lol

You're probably right. Considering his lyric in Sink Into Me goes "I keep my grammar well rehearsed."

But that's a song off New Again, so I don't expect anyone to remember that.

I tweeted something about this to Adam 12 years ago. Still waiting on a response.

I am doubtful it's wrong on purpose. The song still rips though.

I could[n’t] care less about this grammatical conversation tbh!

Pretty sure America is the only English speaking country that says, “I could care less.”

Which, for the record, makes no sense.

On the subject of WYWTB, one of the core memories in my scene upbringing was going to the mall for a back-to-school trip with my parents and getting that album because I'd fallen in love with A Decade Under the Influence over the summer, going into eighth grade. I sat in the back with the CD in my Walkman and the lyric booklet spread out of over my lap, desperately trying to follow along but being completely unable to because of the way they separated Adam and Fred's lyrics. It blew my mind that there were two lead singers.

Yeah, for whatever reason "Up Against (Blackout) has always been a skippable track, and sometimes "My Blue Heaven" too. Odd sequencing. The only thing that keeps "Miami" in rotation is the 80's sound with that nice guitar solo. Never been a fan of the lyrics.

WYWTB is the best TBS album by a lot imo

but I also have a lot of emotional attachment as it was the first cd I bought that wasn’t just handed to me by my parents or an artist I knew because of them. it was the first band I found on my own (well with my brother) and sought out their cd without parental guidance

My Blue Heaven is an all time great TBS track.

    Miami is big bad.
